Lee) Subject: PW cd at Borders in SF Bay Area Hi, Folks-- Allow me to introduce myself...I'm Joanna, whom Ashoke mentioned meeting in Cleveland a few weeks ago. I'm pleased to be part of such an interesting group of Basia fans and have really enjoyed reading about her. I've had the pleasure of seeing Basia in concert twice, and meeting Basia and Danny at a promotion for the local "smooth jazz" station while they were promoting TSI in 1994. Just a few months ago I wondered when she (they) would be putting out a new album and found the website--so here I am! As far as finding "The Perfect Moment" at Borders in Emeryville, California (near Berkeley, where I work), they DID have it on display in the new releases section, complete w/ bonus CD. However it was not in the regular Peter White section, where I looked first. I haven't actually listened to the whole thing yet so no comments on the music itself--although a song called "Danny Bianco..." what's up with that?!? Anyone have any ideas? I look forward to continuing to communicate with you all and sharing my enthusiasm for Basia. And I'm also SO excited about a November release date for another album!!!!! I have downloaded "Waters of March," "Angels Blush," "Third Time Lucky" and "Just Another Day" from the web, but it's not the same as an actual CD! Signing off for now-- Joanna P.S. If any of you ever make it to Cleveland, definitely look Ashoke up! What a party animal!! ;-) ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. Herlin" Subject: New Basia Fan Site Dear Basia Fans, I'm a long-time fan, short-time lurker to the list, first-time poster. I would like to announce to you my new Basia web page, found at http://www.diac.com/~herlin/ratings/basia.htm. It is called "Ratings and Reviews," a critical review of Basia's discography. I welcome comments on the web site. But please read the disclaimer; don't worry if I rate an album higher or lower than you might. I have tried to be as objective as possible, given that I am a big fan. In case you're interested, I have also created "Ratings and Reviews" pages for my other favorite artists, The Alan Parsons Project (http://www.diac.com/~herlin/ratings/parsons.htm) and Boz Scaggs (http://www.diac.com/~herlin/ratings/scaggs.htm). Now running for cover . . . Thomas Herlin ------------------------------ End of basia-digest V3 #236 ***************************
