My $2.25 for the day: The promo is a riot! It's the Prime Time TV 7" single (UK) which was apparently done as a joint promo with an electronics company who was going to give away a- you guessed it- TV to whoever won the contest and sent in the form ("Win Your Own Prime Time TV!" I think it says). A nifty portable model very cool in 1987 I might add! The sleeve folds out into several pictures- the front one she's mock-smooching to the camera, the inside ones she has on a dress and a hat, and looks very young! It's all very cute. Then the whole thing folds out to a poster of her which I must say isn't the most flattering of her with the big '80s hair and all (she aged much better) but still interesting. Ben- if you want the smaller pics for BasiaWeb I'll definitely send them. I'm sure you guys would find them interesting. Speaking of the whole collection angle, is anyone interested in a new discography? Personally for me the old one is helpful but I somehow keep finding these items not listed, or these mistakes in the original one from 1996. Not to mention the stuff that has come out since then. If there's an interest in this I would be happy to work on the update. Since I don't know if just taking the Roach copy and adding on it would be the best thing to do ethics-wise (any opinions on this?) I was thinking that if the collectors on the list got together their lists and sent them to me, we could very well come up with a pretty complete version. Anyway, let me know what you think. Finally, there was an interesting article in the Billboard a couple of weeks ago about the sheer volume of releases coming out in November, particularly on November 17th, which a lot of industry folks are calling the biggest release date ever. A lot of big names are putting out material that day, and the concern of some execs is that what they term "secondary releases" won't have a chance to be noticed by the public because of the huge number of big releases. So, there's talk of moving some folks around date-wise so they won't be buried in the mass. I wonder how the Basia greatest hits thing will fare on this. Hmmm. I guess we will see. Awright then! :) Leslie ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of basia-digest V3 #224 ***************************
