Can't tell you how I appreciate your thoughtful insights. When I have more time to correspond, I will do some sharing of my own. Polish history fascinates me - it's a wonderful, rich, sad story. An entertaining and comprehensive book to read is "Poland" by James Michener. It looks long, but once you are into the first chapter, you can't put it down. Understanding Polish history gives great insights into "Copernicus". Some of the finest Polish musicians have been great Polish patriots, including Chopin and Paderewski. The negative view of Poles and Poland prevailing in Paris when he was there really ticked off Chopin. He liked to sneak politics into his work. It is said that his "Revolutionary" etude was played for the Czar, who said, "This is dangerous music. It is like guns hidden under beautiful roses." Basia is continuing an ancient tradition by including Poland and Polish in her songs. Oh, by the way, I believe I saw the Disney chain letter on this list a little while ago. Unlike the liar in the chain, I really did contact Disney who said it was most definitely a scam and definitely not the way they do business. So if it comes your way, "Reply to All" that it is a hoax, probably designed to collect the e-mail addresses of gullible people. Here, read it yourself: Subj: Re: Disney.com: Disney.com Mail Date: 07/09/98 12:33:01 Central Daylight Time From: guest_mail@ccmsmtp4.online.disney.com (Guest Mail) To: Gorskiceap@aol.com Thank you for your letter.
