I haven't had a chance to view the entire CD - suffice to say what I have seen and heard is outstanding, given the limitations of my particular system. But, I have plans to put together Umatic masters from my original computer captures (much higher quality than the MPEG clips), and from that I should be able to do some VHS duplication. It will just be a bit delayed. Phil, Dennis, thanks for the positive comments... they make the effort really worthwhile. For the non-beta release, I am going to stick an autorun.ini file on the disc that will launch your web browser automatically with the index page. I'd also like to add small screen captures to the index with a frame from each clip to go by the description. - -- Benjamin L. Hi, I'm not sure who this will be directed to, but I am interested in being a member of the Basia fan club. If the reader is Basia herself I want to thank you directly for such nice contributions to the musical world. I have 3 albums and I can't get enough of them (in fact I'm listening to 'The Sweetest Illusion' as I am writing this)...absolutely brilliant compositions!! I saw Basia in concert in Buffalo (1994) in Shea's theatre. I am currently in CA and would like information on upcoming concerts, etc. Thank you very much. I can't hear the songs on Andre's site (my computer's a dinosaur), and so someone on this list offered to put them all on a CD for my listening pleasure... and what a pleasure it is! I've never heard any of these songs... and didn't know some of them even exsisted. This is so great!!! I'm hooked on Basia all over again. I'm afraid to say who it was that did this for me, else he might get swamped with requests from others asking for CDs... but thank you so much! Now that I have your address, I'll be sending the stuff from my closet to you shortly as payment for your services. Anyways... Waters of March is on this CD and I can't understand all that she's saying. I know somebody posted the words awhile ago when tracking down WoM was all the rage on here. Someone out there's got to still have the words... share them with me please! I hate to sing when I don't know what I'm supposed to be singing... I end up mumbling over the rough spots. The only difference is that I am still in Buffalo :( Just kidding. I love it here! Jacki, The lyrics are on Ben's web site http://basia.techwood.org. It's much easier to sing along while reading the words. Ben, Do you recommend any particular mpeg players? I got something called Net_Toob (I think). Is there anything better out there? I've been using the ActiveMovie player, bundled with Internet Explorer 4 mostly, although I also tested with ATI's MPEG player that is bundled with their video cards (the 3D Xpression+ PC2TV is what's in my system). IE4 has the advantage of being free, but the disadvantage of being tied to Win95/98/NT4. I've not used any other decoders, so I can't talk about their advantages or disadvantages. - -- Benjamin L.
