Juan, "Departures" would be great for the archive. Should be directly from a CD though. If the quality is reasonable, feel free to create an MP3 file from it and mail it to me. As for WSAYO, I'm unfamiliar with the american version of the song. I can put up the european version, but do you want to single or album version (the latter has some great vocal arrangements by Basia)? If anyone has a request, let me know. I'll do the grabbing as soon as I can, as I'm in the middle of my exams right now. Evidently a clearing house for collectable music-related stuff, primarily recordings but other material as well. http://www.gemm.com. I went there and found quite a bit of Basia-related and even MB. Well if Basia ever gets around to releasing (or should it that the album escapes) a new new album she might find out the answer to that question. Now I understand that sometimes musicians just like writters have *blocks* but come on 4-5 years I think is long enough before you call in Roto-Rooter. There is a point where only the most manianic fans (yes thats us folks) care about whether or not an artist releases a new album after the last one. >It helps me appreciate the>ones, like Basia, who are still alive and kicking! But only just. At the moment she is on the respirator, and its her fans who are awaiting for a song transfusion :) Well must go as I have a lot to do before I depart on my business trip on Thursday. Am going back to India where the temperature this week in Delhi is 112F in the shade. Mind you last week a few hundred miles outside Delhi the temperature undergroung was about 300,000F. Now i have this sneaky feeling that I shall be back from this trip before the new album comes out. bfn BobR paterson nj ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 18 May 1998 21:59:26 -0400 From: Jeff Hamilton Subject: Re: discussion / musical tastes At 08:56 PM 5/18/98 -0400, it was written: >Well if Basia ever gets around to releasing (or should it that the album escapes) a >>new album she might find out the answer to that question. Excellent point - but remember that not all artists release everything they compose and record. Some of us (them) write and/or record dozens or hundreds of songs and just never bother to release them. Remember, most REAL artists are doing this NOT for the money but for the enjoyment of it. (For example - Prince and Stevie Wonder both have enough recorded material sitting on shelves to release ten more albums each.) >...only the most manianic fans (yes thats us folks)... Yes, I believe that's correct (it is in my case, anyway...) >Well must go as I have a lot to do before I depart on my business trip on Thursday. >Am going back to India where the temperature this week in Delhi is 112F in the >shade.
