Shortly, I will be sending each of you who ordered items a UPS tracking number so you can track your order via the internet, at www.ups.com. If you've sent me a PO box number and would like to change your destination address since UPS can't deliver to PO boxes, feel free to send me a new one. Any questions? Write me back directly or call me at 301-262-4972. Thanks JSL _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. Hi all, Gosh, it seems like ages since I posted anything to this list. I was riding home from work today listening to LWNY. I hardly put a Basia CD in the player anymore. Not that I don't like her work, I'm just trying to preserve whatever freshness is left by not overdoing it. So I rarely play anything by her these days. Well, I got to thinking about the situation. You know, the lack of anything new for God knows how long. We all know she is basically lazy (sez so herself, right?), but where does Danny White fit in this equation? He's half of a very creative, if not particularly prolific, writing team. He's acknowledged as a gifted keyboardist (on this list, anyway). BIG QUESTION: So why hasn't he done anything on his own? Or at least on someone else's recordings? I can't believe that the little they did in recording and touring made them such a fortune that he can afford to take a few years off. Sure, he's a new husband and soon to be father, but speaking for myself, I couldn't afford to stop working for that kind of time when faced with similar circumstances. How many of you did? I gotta believe that if brother Peter depended on recording with her for a living he'd be in a bread line somewhere by now. Or am I missing something here? Has anybody heard of or actually _heard_ anything he might have done on the side? If he's not recording, what the heck can he be up to? Any speculation? Forgive me for suggesting the obvious, but if I was searching for the "Brave New Hope" Basia poster that Ben Combee wants, I would do any number of searches on the web (through www.search.com, for example): "Brave New Hope," "Posters," "Rock and Roll Posters," "Basia," "Basia Merchandise" etc. I realize this seems like a no-brainer and you'll probably get eleventy-seven million hits that you'll have to slog through, but I recently had great success finding a gorgeous reproduction poster of a specific pre-Raphaelite painting by Ralph Dicksee. It was actually much easier than I imagined! And on the way I found countless other amazing web sites. Now, of course, I'm hopelessly hooked on the world wide web and I am neglecting work, family, and friends. (Just kidding.) Ben, you'll find that Brave New World poster, and I'm sure when you do we'll ALL want one! Good luck. My home directory was moved to another server, so the path for the .htaccess file to enter the archive was wrong. It is fixed now however, and working fine. Login and password are the same as earlier. Let me know if you have any download problems (private mail please, not to the list). Some of you might have to enter a MIME type for x-audio/mp3, or simply hold SHIFT when you download the files (use the right button menu for saving on a PC). All the players I've listed should work fine for their respective platforms. Your computer might have problems recognizing the file type, which means you can't double-click it to play it. In this case, start the MP3 player and open the file using the program's "Open..." function.
