While Roach and I have had our differences in the past, I've never known him to be a scam artist. I think he'l come through with the orders -- we've all had stressful times where things slip (like right now for me and video stuff -- I did burn a few more master CDs this morning, but no more captures until THIS weekend). - -- Benjamin L. That is, unless we're the same people who would just as soon have a discussion at a restaurant dinner about a person in his absence. It's not really polite (note that I make this post under the assumption that J.S. isn't reading the posts right now - if he is, then I guess no one's technically talking behind his back and therefore everything I just said should be disregarded). Perhaps those who are concerned about the transactions should mail each other privately about the matter. Not a slam, not a flame, just a thought, just an opinion. As the very-hands-off owner of this list, I'd like to ask that you correspond directly with Mr. Lohr. However, it appears that the other people who started this thread were mentioning a lack of communication from Mr. Lohr. Additionally, might I politely remind you that he did use this mailing list as an advertising source for his wares? I am of the opinion that things will work out in the wash, but since none of us who are Mr. Lohr's customers have each other's email addy's our public questioning of "did anyone get their stuff yet?" is somewhat appropriate since this mailing list did provide the seeds for Mr. Lohr's venture. -- Beverly Martin - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -=> Visit The all New *LEGENDS* APA site!!! <=- http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Dimension/9049/Legends.html FEATURING THE ONE AND ONLY SUGAR AND SPIKE WEBSITE ON THE WHOLE BLASTED INTERNET THINGIE!!! http://home.earthlink.net/~beej_martin/SandSMain.html AND MY OLD "STAND-BYS" AT: http://home.earthlink.net/~beej_martin/index.html http://home.earthlink.net/~beej_martin/graphics.html http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Dimension/9049/twice1.html (12/29/97) - -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*--*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* "Now the internet has all these people who are sitting around typing one-handed, and they're illiterates! Although it's impolite to talk about someone in this way, were it not for posting a query about receiving paid-for goods then these folks would not have found out that they weren't the only ones. No-one's labelled Roach as anything other than a reasonable fellow, BTW. They are merely a little concerned. Steve. "Did anyone get their stuff yet?" sounds like a reasonable question, though. >Additionally, might I politely remind you that he did use this >mailing list as an advertising source for his wares? I would like to politely suggest that in the future, people wishing to sell merchandise keep their posts to a minimum length (as opposed to mile-long lists), ending them with a line such as "Please e-mail me for full list" or "Check out my sale list at www.whatever.com/whatever.htm". This would keep the entire matter off of the list in the future. I'm in no authority to say that's how we'll do it from now on, but I think it's a fine idea and I can't imagine anyone disagreeing with it. I'd like to for this list to remain the only (pretty much) flame-free mailing list that I'm on. On another note: Wsomething (jazz radio station) is doing a sweepstakes thing where the winner and a guest will get to hang out in Hawaii for a week and check out some concerts. Peter White is one of the featured performers. So of course I've entered my name into the drawing. If you're interested, (I am 99.9% sure that) the number to fax your name, address, and daytime tel# number is 202-432-1059 (it's in the United States). I believe the drawing is at the end of March or the end of May. Anyone who lives in or near Washington D.C. should listen to 105.9 FM (I don't remember the call letters) for details.
