Summerfest is held on Milwaukee's lakefront, and that evening the fog came rolling in and it hovered above the stage where they performed. First concert I've ever gone to where it started BEFORE the announced time. They were scheduled to go on at 10 p.m., but they started at 9:35 p.m.! Peter got a good review in today's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: "Peter White...did pull off one of the night's highlights...with a touching rendition of Stevie Wonder's 'My Cherie Amour.'" Richard Elliot couldn't believe how fired up the Milwaukee fans were for a Monday night.... Thanks to you, Diane, as well as Dennis, I hung around after the concert in hopes of seeing Peter. I took along my Caravan of Dreams CD, which he autographed. I also mentioned to him what Dennis had written earlier... > When I told him of the Basia mail list, he was > very surprised and said, "Basia has a mail list?" Well, I explained > she wasn't actually on it and what that was about. ...and proceeded to give him 2 postings from this mailing list (the June 4 and June 23 emails from Diane), saying that he could see a bit of what we had been writing about him. He took a moment to glance through the June 23 message and commented on what Diane had written... > Yeah, that's the bad thing about it - not really enough time - but if you > go to the autograph line early it might be easier to say something - people > at the end sometimes get rushed through because they might have a schedule > to keep or it might just be an early morning and the manager might want to > get "the boys" back to the hotel for some NEEDED SLEEP... ...stressing how much SLEEP was very much a necessity. Peter would have stayed talking to those of us there a bit longer, I'm sure, but since Summerfest closed at midnight, the security guards made us leave when it got to be close to 12:10 a.m. I, too, would encourage others to see the show. As another one of the attendees, I completely agree! Having not just one but four artists who can step up and collaborate with each other makes this type of concert three to four times the fun! Hopefully, we could get Basia to come for one of the upcoming Summerfests (either 1998, or more likely 1999). >Summerfest is held on Milwaukee's lakefront, and that evening the fog >came rolling in and it hovered above the stage where they performed. It could be worse... A thunderstorm rolled through the grounds at 1:30pm, and anyone who was outside would get a very good soaking. >First concert I've ever gone to where it started BEFORE the announced >time. They were scheduled to go on at 10 p.m., but they started at 9:35 >p.m.! So much the better for us, who wanted to get autographs before the grounds close at midnight and we had to leave (and I had a bus to catch). The concert did give me an exuse to spend $15 on a Craig Chaquico CD, which he signed. Of course Peter did sign my book from his CD. I don't currently have anything from Rick Braun or Richard Elliot, but I'm certain that will change in the near future. :-) Looking forward for a return visit from Peter, or G&S&M, or especially Basia, either to Milwaukee or my stomping grounds in nearby Madison, Wis.
