We can run hot and cold. there have been times where I would get 15 posts a day. Other times, like now, not much action. Hang on. The ride should accelerate when our man Roach returns from Australia. Can you provide us with any more details (where he lives, if he has any brothers/sisters, his age, etc.)? Thanks. Denis (with one 'n'), Bill, and the others hopping on board lately could really liven things up with a minimum of effort. As for myself, everyone here knows I first became a Basia fan back in '87 when I piled my pickup into a big oak tree as I attempted to get my radio tuned into a stronger signal from the station that was playing 'Promises'. A few weeks later, a nurse's aide attending to my needs in the ICU was humming the second melodic line from the song near my ear, and I asked her, "Hey, what is the name of that song anyway?" Her eyes opened wide in amazement, and she nearly dropped the bedpan, and she mouthed the word 'Promises', and screamd, "DOCTOR, HE'S AWAKE!!!" The place went wild, as all these medical types streamed into the room, all talking at once, everyone wanting to know how I felt, and did I know I had been comatose for nearly a month, and all. I said, "Of course, PROMISES! What a great song! Hey, if I sell you a pint of blood, will one of you take the money and go over to Sam Goody's and get me the CD? I gotta have it! Who does it, by the way?" The attending physician (Dr. Wu, I think his name was) said, "She's this Polish-born vocalist, now living in the UK, named Basia". "Bahseeya?", I asked into his stethoscope. "No," he winced, "BAH-SHAH". "Basia", I repeated in a whisper, "I'll bet she isn't nearly as beautiful as her name." Wu snorted, "Man, where've you been? She is one gorgeous chick...errrr" he glanced around at all the frowning nurses, "....I mean, she would easily grace the cover of Vogue Magazine, or even Elle,...." "Oh", I said. Then I felt a sharp pain in my right arm. "Ow. What are you doing?" "Getting at least 15 bucks worth", said Dr. Wu. The rest is history, as they say....
