Heck, I missed meeting Basia in MY HOME TOWN - so I had to make up an "excuse" to go to San Antonio to see the show (my mother lived in TX at the time) - and I was quite fortunate that I finally *did* get to meet her. Basia is a gracious and lovely lady with a terrific sense of humor - and the whole bunch of them (band &tc) all seemed bent upon persistently but affectionately teasing each other. A very cool atmosphere. :) >I only hope to see her again here in Phoenix and on >Rosie O'Donnell and all those other shows promoting her new album in '98! :) AMEN to that!!! Well, I'm off this weekend to the Renaissance Pleasure Faire to "molest" a few Renaissance Men... :) Yeehaw! TTFN! --Di. Hi what TV show are you talking about? I am in New York and did not hear anything about any appearance. I would have been glued to the screen. Do you know when she will be on TV? She is definitely not the world's most popular (or prolific!) artist, but she seems to have touched us all in a special way. If she flooded the market with just anything old thing she ever felt like recording, her work wouldn't be as appealing. It's the very lack of material that makes us want more. And SOON! :) There was some talk by Phil and others about which album they liked best. T&T was fantastic, and objectively, TSI was the most polished, but I think most of my favorite tracks came from LWNY. My sentimental favorite is Baby You're Mine. It was the first one I ever heard from LWNY on the radio prior to the release. Loved it from the get-go. (Great minds, eh Phil?:) I liked the video of that one, also. In a slightly different vein, I saw in tonight's newspaper that Guitars, Saxes and More is making a stop locally in June. That really made my day! I will get tickets tomorrow. My wife and son and I are looking forward to it. It's going to be at Artpark in Lewiston NY (just north of Niagara Falls), a beautiful outdoor setting - unless it rains :( Sounds like a perfect early summer evening. Hope to get the chance to meet and talk to PW. Any possibility you're coming up this way, too, Di? I'll buy dinner! If you ever have the chance to see it (rumor has it a compilation of Basia video clips is in the works, but don't quote me on this) you will not only see Basia doing _Until You Come Back To Me_, but also Arsenio enticing Basia to show her bra to the audience. This was, of course, the era of underwear-as-street-costume (kudos to Madonna for this breakthrough) so if anyone is to be blamed for making it an issue it must be Arsenio, who probably realised that in her fevered state Basia could easily be persuaded to do anything. At the close of the show, the host and guest meandered through the audience, hugging and kissing everyone. I have often wondered how many of them became victims to Basia's bronchial bug as a result.
