Well, I can probably do that... Give me a chance to get it together and I'll get back to everyone! :) The chat was fun (tmike, you wanna admit how many hours we both were online???) (HA!), missed some of you from last week! Any calls for a new time? I am looking for a faster irc server - any suggestions??? I tried irc.aimnet.com - seemed to be better for me than irc.stealth.net. Will any irc.(blank).(whatever) do? (I am not a newby to the irc stuff but I just don't pay much attention to it, just get on a gameserver and play chaos!) Hope all is well! --Di. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Feb 1997 18:23:41 EST From: roach2@juno.com (J.S. If you change servers, you run the risk of: a) confusing people b) having access problems (what may be an awesome server for one person may suck for another) Plus, I think we've finally found a good time - every Wednesday at 9pm (EST). If this is becoming a question of "file transfer speed" for you, I think you need to ask if its really IRCing you're looking to do - I hate to sound crass but you guys are (and were) flipping out over sound files that, like, everybody already has. I know some people think that stuff is cool, but is this really something for the IRC chats? I just think it'd be more appropriate to put this stuff up on a website if people are interested in downloading it. I mean, you had poor Phil ready to pull his hair out because he couldn't hear the "yeah yeah yeah" part of "Promises" - - yknow...what's wrong with this picture? But, if you think I'm full of $^%&, well, then, you're entitled to your opinion. Still, I think the time, date, and place are just fine. Note to AOL users: for those of you who haven't been able to get to the IRC (I don't know for sure if there even IS a way to do it from AOL), we can always set up something in the AOL Chat Rooms... (Don't know that for a fact, though.) If you do it within the AOL Chat Rooms, doesn't that leave those of us with other ISP's out in the cold? My AOL account died long ago. Or are you talking about two separate sessions? Den ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Feb 1997 22:05:19 EST From: roach2@juno.com (J.S. I believe that's true - the only way AOLers can get to the IRC is if the IRC server has a telnet hookup (like Undernet). I could be wrong but I believe this is the case. >If you do it within the AOL Chat >Rooms, doesn't that leave those of us with other ISP's out in the >cold? My AOL account died long ago. Or are you talking about two >separate sessions? I'm talking about two separate sessions... and, of course, not at the same time. That's the whole point - so NO ONE is left in the dark. Toodles!
