But I promise I'll be thinkin' of ya! :) I should work up some Basia soundbytes to trade when I finally DO make it to one of our IRC chats... Hmmmmm... I have Neil Diamond talking on my computer... If any of you .wav-aholics out there want an idea or two, take a look at some of Basia's interviews and take soundbytes from her speaking (such as, I have Neil Diamond saying "Beautiful job" and "That was a great experience"). THAT ought to give you some ideas! :) And those of our members in other parts of the world (for example, Alfred), pick a time to get together based on a good time for YOU, and get together on IRC - I'm up in the middle of the night sometimes (a lot of times!)... :) TTFN! --Di. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 01 Feb 1997 10:15:13 -0800 From: mike smith Subject: Re: IRC Monday Diane F. Since the world is made up of so many time zones, a standard was adopted long ago which sets the time in Greenwich as the world standard. It's referred to as "UTC" (coordinated universal time). I listen to shortwave radio a lot, and all the program times are scheduled this way. A shorter abbreviation is Z (for zulu). See the - -0500 on your mail time/date stamp? That means you are Greenwich MINUS 5 hours. That puts you somewhere in the US eastern standard time zone. (Newfoundland in Atlantic Canada would be -0430 or a half-hour earlier than the US east coast. > I hear that. When the alarm clock goes off at 4:30am, one tries to be in bed > by 9:00pm.
