I'm still curious, though, as to what they've got in South America. Supposedly, they stuck "Waters of March" on the tail end of their version of BASIA ON BROADWAY, but I'm puzzled as to how they pulled this off when, if I remember correctly, there wasn't enough room left on the CD for another track. And if their BOB does have "Waters of March," is it this studio version or a live version? >Roach, I do have the lyrics if you would like them let me know. Thanks anyway - they appear on the linear notes of the CD, so I'm set. Toodles! JSL. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 12 Jan 1997 12:50:37 EST From: roach2@juno.com (J.S. Don't get me wrong, its an excellent track. And as for the lyrics, that's old news: I remember my reaction the first time I sat down and listened to "The Sweetest Illusion" was something along the lines of: "What the f**k is she saying?" Her English has always baffled me - "Whose Side Are You On" is 12 years old and her English then was crystal clear. Nowadays, forget it. That's why I've always wanted to see her do more stuff in Polish, or at the very least, do more slow songs like "Perfect Mother" and "Just Another Day" where the lyrics are slow and calculated. Tracks like "The Sweetest Illusion" need subtitles... and no more "Prayer of a Happy Housewife" type deals! That song makes me want to shoot myself. End of complaining. Next? Ok, I've heard them all - it's terrible!! The sounds are great, the recordings are great, it's all just great! What's terrible is; Here we are - no CD's of this stuff available. All I have are 60 second WAV clips. AHHHHHHHH!!!! I'm waiting for Nelson (from the Simpsons) to say "Haw-Haw!". Here's a thought - post the full length versions at 16bit44hzstereo and I'll drop them in my RedBook CD burner. - -Robert Loaded down with your talents; Can you still keep your balance? - Emerson, Lake & Palmer ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 13 Jan 1997 04:27:46 +0100 From: Anders Hamre Subject: Re: Those accursed sound clips! I agree that the clips suck as far as sound quality is concerned, but that's internet bandwidth for ya. I suggest using 16-bit ADPCM WAV-files, or even better, MPEG files for the sound clips. The compression ratio would keep them at approximately the same size anyway. - -- Anders Hamre anhamre@sn.no ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 13 Jan 1997 00:11:32 EST From: roach2@juno.com (J.S. An excellent idea with just two minor drawbacks: 1) I don't have anything that will record stuff for longer than a minute 2) I don't have the webspace to post anything that big. It is an excellent idea, though - they've done something similar over on the Level 42 list... it took them a bit of time to do it, what with all the arguing over the moral dilemma of copyright infringements and what not, but it can work.
