Majewicz" Subject: Holiday Update Happy Holidays, everyone! Well, it was a good one for me. My copy of the Japanese import single, "Time and Tide" came in the mail today. I'm sure glad the label is bilingual. The tracks are as Roach told us back in October. The recording is first rate, with little imagination going into the packaging. There are lyrics for Time and Tide inside as well as a brief discography showing cover art of, what I assume, are Japanese releases of her CD's. The cover of Time and Tide (album - not single) is quite different from the US release. It's a picture of a thoughtful looking Basia - head resting on hand, and (hard to tell because it's monochrome - red and white) what looks to be shorter hair, and no bangs visible. Like I said, it sounds great, but I prefer the studio versions better. Maybe I can get the artwork scanned at work Monday. If I do, I'll pass it along to Ben and Roach. Maybe they can put it on the web pages. I was also excited to receive a copy of the gold version of Time and Tide for Christmas. I got it from a friend at work (who knows of my addiction ;) whom I of took under my wing this year to show him the ways of TV engineering. It was one of the nicest gifts I have ever received, I think because it was so unexpected. I saw talk here of Angels Blush on the radio. Not a bit of air play in Buffalo. (We're hopelessly out of touch.) A side note...We subscribe to a digital radio service offered by our cable company, called Music Choice. One of the 30 or so channels carries seasonal music. Since the beginning of November they have been playing solid Christmas music - 24/7. (Amazing how many different songs and versions of those songs there are!) Well, I have been listening A LOT the past week, but didn't hear Angels Blush once. It turns out that they don't play anything that isn't in general release. They give title, artist and album info. Can't tell people where to buy it if it ain't for sale! Hope you all had a good holiday. - ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Dennis J. Hey everyone-- Happy holidays to y'all from the (currently) snowy city of Portland, where the family is well and doing fine. I just had to toss this in-- my wife and I were sitting in a restaurant having lunch this afternoon, when what should I hear floating in over the canned background music tape but... "Whose Side Are You On?". Unbelievable, huh??? Who was putting *this* tape together? Particularly when the next song was "It's Only Rock 'n' Roll (But I Like It)"?? I think we drink too much coffee here. Ciao for now - -Kevin soundman@chatlink.com P.S.- Nick... be sure and tell your mom Happy New Year for us!! ------------------------------ End of basia-digest V1 #319 ***************************
