For the benefit of our newer friends on the mail list, word came out earlier this year that Basia would release a new album in October (was that the month?). As we grow closer to that wonderful time of the year, it seems less and less likely that we will see one forthcoming. And more and more likely that our esteemed Roach was right! BTW, I am happy to report that Jones SuperAudio service is playing "Just Another Day". It's good to hear our gal getting some air time (even if it is on Peter's coattails ;) Regards, Den - ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Dennis J. Dear friends and Basia fans; I am reading everyday the comments of this list, and I am really lost. I want to know if someone can give me informations or only talk with me! Well, it's the second time I am writing only, and I have this questions: - -everybody here is Basia and Matt Bianco's fans ? - -Basia write sometimes in this list ? Or someone that work with her? - -Basia never come to my coutry, and I don't have any comments about her shows. I have only one video from Basia, and isn't LIVE, then I can't talk about things that I never saw. If someone can answer me, I would like. If not, I think it's better go out. Sorry my poor English. I have the original UK vinyl album (wea WX7/240472-1) which is identical to the re-released European CD. The "original" US album, I believe, contains the re-recorded version of "More Than I Can Bear" with Bash's vocals. > >Alfred, I'm quite willing to send you one or several NTSC VHS tapes > >to make a copy of this gem of yours. I will try to dub some VHS tapes I have into NTSC format and see if it works. However, the blank tapes I have specifically say VHS (PAL/SECAM). I can select my VCR to record NTSC signals, but as I only have a PAL output monitor, I can still only check the NTSC playback on a PAL monitor. Anyway, several of you already contacted me privately, so I'm sure we will be able to deliver some watchable versions sooner or later. Ciao! Hello Gerson and welcome to the list! I think we can say that everyone here is a Basia fan. Some of us ( and I'm speaking for myself only, ) are not true Matt Bianco fans but only curious about her earlier work. > -Basia write sometimes in this list ? Or someone that work with her? As far as I know she has never sent any contributions to the list. The closest we have to a direct connection is the multi-talented Diane Fisli who works with Peter White, who, of course, works with our beloved Basia. (Check out the web site she put together at: http://peterwhite.com and a wonderful Basia web site run by list member Ben Combee: http://www.eden.com/~combee/basia/ > -Basia never come to my coutry, and I don't have any comments about her > shows. It is too bad that she has not performed there since she obviously was influenced by Brazilian music and composers and expresses a fondness for it. I saw her in concert once and it was a thrill. >I have only one video from Basia, and isn't LIVE, then I can't talk > about things that I never saw. What video do you have? We are compiling a video made from contributions of list members and are seeking new material. > If someone can answer me, I would like. If not, I think it's better go > out. Please stay with the list. Tell us more about yourself. What is your favorite Basia recording? Do you own any CD's by her? Is her music played on the radio stations there? What other music and artists do you like? > Sorry my poor English. Here we speak Portuguese, and we don't have another > language in a basic school. And if the conversation here is hard for you to follow, don't worry about that, either. Some of the discussions have been going on for a long time and are hard for some of us to follow, too.
