I'm not sure that I have actually had a chance to really meet anyone in the group, although that might be nice, sometime. Actually my name is Kevin Segura, and I've been a huge fan of Bash & Danny's music for about 8 years. To be honest, I really thought that I was in the minority on this, and that she had maybe 10 fans scattered around the world, because everytime I'd mention her name in those inevitable "Who are your favorite singers" conversations, I'd get blank looks from everyone. Actually, I still do, a fair amount of the time. That's fine by me, though. I'd just as soon that they kept putting out thoughtful, melodic records for the 10 of us that like them, than put out some piece of meaningless commercial fluff that sold 30,000,000 copies. For those of you trying to get a handle on what "the new kid"'s taste is, my favorites are "Prime Time TV" (easily one of the best lyrics Basia's done-- I think she's yet to match it for the gentle "edge" that it's got), "Until You Come Back to Me" (nice groove, and a terrific bit of production on the bridge), the "street version" of "Baby, You're Mine" (it's nicely uncluttered, and oh, that delightful accent!), "Yearning" (for the achingly beautiful mood of the performance and production), and "More Fire Than Flame" (wonderfully interwoven sax parts in the verses, plus a pretty fair Motown steal, to boot). Phew! That's enough about me for now. If any of you are *that* interested in my sometimes too-wordy admiration for Bash, feel free to drop a private line to me at: soundman@chatlink.com I have no shortage of comments about Ms. T & Mr. W's talent! Also, if any of you *do* happen to have any of the CDs that I'm looking for, I'd definitely like to hear from you! (Believe it or not, the posting really has had some effect-- I found a copy of "Angels Blush" already! Embarassingly enough, I haven't even heard the song yet... some radio market Portland, Oregon is, let me tell you...) At any rate, gang, no, we're not alone... and every now and then, ya just gotta stand up and be counted! It's nice to find intelligent life somewhere in the musical universe. Take care, everybody!! Is it anyone we know? Ah yes, that CD above is the the toughest to find. I was fortunate to get mine way back when Basia first started out. I am glad my trip to Germany included Matt Bianco's "Whose Side Are You On" being played by all the German friends I met in 1985! I suspect that this is most difficult to find sine it is very old now PLUS it will run you $50 to $100! > BTW, has anyone heard from Ben since Jeff's accident? Hi All I am also somewhat new to the group, but have also been a longtime fan of Basia, etc. Got drawn into Matt Bianco through Danny's brother Peter, whom I have been a fan since the early early days when first played with Al Stewart. In fact today saw Peters *free* concert at the World Trade Center in NY, and it was *fan*tastic. Am still somewhat deaf at the moment as was at the very front next to speakers. Brief intro to myself. Am originally from Edmonton, North London, and moved to USA back in 1981, when offered a job. Decided to accept on trial basis to see if I liked it here. Well am still here so guess I like it. Am Married now and wife is American (As she is singing in the background Long Live America). Have a 7 year old Son who is the be all and end all of my life, (but don't tell him so). Am somewhat the same as most of you lot appear to be a purvayor of good musical sounds and list Basiaup there next to PW. Well must go now as EastEnders is about to start and must catch up with the latest in Albert Square, (Was an original member of the Free Arthur Fowler Committee), even though we some 15 months behind UK. bfn bob rumsby paterson nj may the swartsz be with you ------------------------------ End of basia-digest V1 #205 ***************************
