Fisli" Date: Tue, 18 Jun 1996 07:59:35 -0700 Subject: YEEEEHAH! Well, I just talked with Peter White, and the decision is final, the Basia cut is ON the album!!! The album (on the Sony label) is called 'Caravan of Dreams', after the name of a Fort Worth TX club. (no, it's not a live album, just a concept that intrigued Peter) Release date for the album is right around the end of July. Here is the song list: Venice Beach Ready & Willing Just Another Day (featuring BASIA on vocals!!!) En Garde (featuring Marc Antoine on guitar - left side) Lullaby Caravan Of Dreams (featuring Boney James on tenor sax) And She Loves Me (featuring Boney James on soprano sax) Bittersweet City Of Lights Long Ride Home (featuring Rick Braun on flugelhorn) I've heard a few of these (including the Basia song) and they are really nice. The Basia song is breathtakingly beautiful. "Lullaby" is simple, just Peter on guitar and piano, and "City Of Lights" features Peter on guitar, accordion, and keys, with just a little percussion. "En Garde" has been performed (tho called "Reunion") at the Guitars & Saxes & More show, and is co-written by Peter and Marc. All of the tunes are original. I am deleriously happy that *saner* minds prevailed and somehow came to the conclusion that including the Basia vocal on Peter's album (the 'powers that be' had to throw their weight around some before the whole thing finalized) would be beneficial to everyone all the way around... Why something so apparent to everyone *I've* talked to should be such a tough decision is beyond me... But there ya go, it's on the album!
