At best, regional stations will play an hour a week of a variety of jazz and certainly no Basia. Local commercial radio will only echo what's popular on the charts. If you are living in London, there is hope as there is a jazz radio station called Jazz FM which will cover all types of jazz related music. Living in Cambridge, i am just able to pick it up with a lot of interference. Reception is very unpredictible. It is ironic that Basia has based herself in London and yet much of her fans tend to be of an international audience rather than in "local". Home for me is Singapore and there is certainly much more opportunities to hear BAsia, rare as these occasions may be, over the radio and certainly the availability of her CDs are more widespread. If so we have the same satellite delivered format here in Buffalo: WSJZ (and I believe JSL hears the same in DC). They DO play Basia, but only "pre-Sweetest Illusion". Nothing newer. And you're right, but Al Jarreau doesn't bother me as much as hearing Sade every fifteen minutes! I hear more (and newer) Basia tracks on the cable and/or satellite services such as DCR or Primestar or Jones Super Audio. They play quite a variety of modern jazz, and tracks from all of Basia's CD's. We leave DCR on at work all day long. (I work at a TV station, and we route the audio all over the building so we can hear tunes in whatever room we are working.) Note to JSL: I'm still calling "No joy" on the CD delivery. Did you use get the zip code right? :) Dennis - ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Dennis J. I reordered it again and will probably receive another shipment from this country sometimes during this month. If I do not get it that time, I will assume that this item is now out of print or something like that? But we can try again and again , no problem. Thank you for your patience and E-mail me again beginning of July if you have not received anything by then. Take care. Ok, the mail slave swears that he sent them out last week, so I don't know what the holdup is, at least with Jacki and Juan. Dennis is another story - that Buffalo division of the USPS really sucks hard. Gosh, its getting boring in here. Have we finally run out of things to talk about? Please don't leave me to think of something - you might not like the topic (as I am at the end of my rope). Toodles!
