We should keep this in mind for if and when the >>tour hits. Of course, you will all have to come to Buffalo! :D << I dunno, it might be nice to have our party here in Los Angeles CA... Not that I'm offering my back yard or anything (we'd have to move all the old cars!), but we've got a really nice park (Griffith) that is home to one of the *greatest* outdoor theaters (where Basia has performed!), the Greek Theater... The Greek has a season from May to October, picnics are really fine there, lots of room, trees, grass, pleasant surroundings, relatively safe (compared to my back yard, anyhow!) (HA!)... And we could invite Peter White! (HA!) Jacki sed: >> Hey... the more, the merrier. The question is: what's the real color of her skirt? >>[my guess is purple] << In the SI tour program at the end (pg. 18) there are Paul Cox b&w shots of Basia in that dress, and then color paintings (artistic interpretations) by Halina Tymusz. She paints Basia in red, but then again, she also painted Basia in black and white (see cover of SI). The real photo of that pose is in that same (red???) satin dress... Purple would be nice, tho. Judging from the B&W shots, the color has to be somewhere on the darker side -- shades of red tend to translate darkest when photographed in B&W. JS sed: >>Oh, and for some reason, I found it hilarious that Peter White's favorite >>film was "Repo Man." He also said his favorite sport was underwater pole vaulting, and you take "Repo Man" seriously??? :) He said in the LWNY tour program that his fave movies include "Dead Poets Society", "American Graffiti", and "2001" (see, Rick DeCastro, the man has some taste after all!). He doesn't see many movies, his tastes run more to reading non-fiction, true crime & biographies. Hey, howcum you didn't notice that great photo of him by none other than *moi*??? :) (standing ovations gratefully and humbly acknowledged) (HA!) BTW, welcome, Jacki... ;-) (just catching up on backlogged e-mail) (now sinking back into the murk of the lurk!) (is it me, or is everyone getting MAJOR lag time posting to the digest???) And we could invite Peter > White! (HA!) Diane's point made me think of something I hadn't really paid any attention to before: if this new album really is completed and released by fall, that means that there will probably be a winter (not summer) tour. This means traditionally smaller venues and (since its out of season) smaller crowds. Frankly, I'm hoping for a delay until AT LEAST Spring '97, that way a summer tour would be guaranteed - and I wouldn't have to drive into DC (Constitution Hall - YUCK!). > In the SI tour program at the end (pg. 18) there are Paul Cox b&w shots of > Basia in that dress, and then color paintings (artistic interpretations) by > Halina Tymusz. Peter's new album, which, by the way, is to be on the COLUMBIA label (he just signed with them last week for a *seven* album deal) (YeeeeHAH!), is going to include a tune with Basia. I didn't ask for details -- Peter is notorious for not letting too many details out before the album -- so that's all he said. Peter heard about the Water on March album, but didn't know much. He said that the "new Basia album" by the end of this year (not WOM) is a HIGHLY optimistic estimate. He is going to England the end of April to do some work for the album but said that Danny & Basia haven't gotten any of the songs written yet... He projected perhaps the end of *next* year for the Basia album release. Hmmmmm. Peter's new album should be ready for release sometime in June. I'll try to keep you posted. :) TTFN! --Di. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Diane F.
