I'm tentatively interested in one of these, as long as they're more in the $10 range as opposed to $20. Let me know how it turns out. Thanks, Mark ------------------------------ From: "Mark M. A ****ING _BOOTLEG_!??! If its a bootleg, then WHY DOES IT HAVE A ***ING SONY CATALOG NUMBER ON IT!?!? I can't believe they tried to pass off their ignorance by saying its a friggin bootleg! Here's a few minor factoids that shoot down most of their arguement: a) The Japanese don't make bootlegs (well, they do, but not of this caliber). I'd dare to say that 85% of all bootlegs made come out of ITALY, _NOT_ Japan! b) I'm almost dead sure that CD Banzai DOESN'T SELL BOOTLEGS because ITS VERY ILLEGAL and the feds have been cracking down hard on bootleg dealers recently. Most online dealers have stopped selling their collections of bootlegs, which is rather unfortunate but that's the way it goes. and the killer: c) _ITS GOT A SONY CATALOG NUMBER ON IT!!!!!!!!!!_ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ All Sony CD releases in Japan start with the letters "ESCA" - this CD IS A SONY RELEASE. You know what you oughta do, John? You should call them back and ask them if the "Half a Minute" single is going to be released anywhere else on the planet (ie the UK, Japan, etc.)...if they give you the "duhh, I don't think so," response then you KNOW they're full of s**t because it HAS gotten single release in BOTH the UK and Japan...there goes their knowledge of foriegn Basia releases right out the window. On top of all that - why would someone release a bootleg of a Basia concert when "On Broadway" was JUST released!?!? A video is one thing but...I can't believe this bulls**t. Also, when they said "disc" they probably meant a full fledged album. The odds of this thing being a full-fledged album are remote, but with all the unreleased junk floating around ("Angels Blush," "Half a Minute" (Ben's Phone Mix), about 1000 remixes and instrumental versions from TSI alone, and there's GOTTA be some unreleased live tracks lying around from the "...Broadway" tapes) the possibility of this being a EP released on a whim by Sony Music Japan, in my opinion, is our best bet. Ha, a bootleg...that sort of stupidity alone warrants the death penalty. Who is that ignorant, I ask you. A bootleg...I'll bet $1 trillion dollars that its not a bootleg. A bootleg. HA! I should be more specific: all Sony _5 inch CD_ releases are marked "ESCA - - XXXX." 3 inch CDs are marked as "ESDA-XXXX." And then there's also something else for mini-discs. And these are all ONLY in Japan. A bootleg...hahaha JSL. ------------------------------ From: "Dennis J. BTW, this _is_ exciting news. This CD could be more promising than BOB. Anyone get it yet? I'm tempted to order it, but I'd hate to blow all that money on something I might regret. Still, it IS a Basia recording...Someone tell me what to do! (I can hear you all shouting "Do it, do it!") Dennis ------------------------------ End of basia-digest V1 #40 **************************
