Now my e-mails to the list keep getting messed up! When I saw the interview, I was also stunned by her revelations about a prior marriage and a teenage son. I was also intrigued by her comments about the meaning behind "Yearning". I enjoyed the show, though I still don't think much of Lauren, or the funhouse look to her set. (This was the first time I saw her show.) Did any of you get to see Basia's appearance on the "Today Show", when it finally aired last month? She performed "Half A Minute" again, while before the song, Giselle Fernandez mentioned that Basia had been confirmed by the pope! (She apparently meant the current pope, back when he served the Catholic church in Poland.) Basia replied, "Maybe I was blessed!" More news: if you're interested in Incognito (especially since Kevin Robinson is a member), you may want to check out a homepage devoted to the group. You'll find out how to subscribe to the Incognito mailing list, and there's a note in their mailing-list archive that may explain why part-time Basia fans may not have bought "Broadway". (It also mentions how some former Incognito members played in Basia's Broadway band.) That reminds me! Check out the current (I think) "Rolling Stone" for a story of how live albums sold so poorly overall in 1995. Then you won't feel so bad about "Broadway" not charting in the top-200. Finally, I have some news on upcoming releases that some Basia fans may want to know. A new album should be out in the spring from Peter White, while February 27th will be the release date for an album from none other than Snowboy! It's called "Pit Bull Latin Jazz", and it's on the Acid Jazz/Polygram label. Sorry about the mix-up with my messages...talk to you all soon!
