That wouldn't take alot of time since she'd only need to write a song or two and then just sing original arrangements of the classics. I keep waiting for a truely wonderful xmas album, instead of boring rehashes of the old stuff. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 01 Dec 96 20:45:48 GMT From: dleuty@Onramp.NET (Don Leuty) Subject: Re: basia-digest V1 #294 > Will Basia ever do a Christmas album??? My only concern is that it would lengthen our wait for some more of the songs that are not seasonal. I just don't hink it went out last time... I jsut heard MILES AWAY on 104.1 KMJZ here in Minneapolis and when it was over, the DJ said that Basia is due out with another album in a month. Yes, January 1997! Yay! I can hardly wait! My Juno acct. is down so I've been reduced to AOL for the moment. In a previous message, sew_n_quilt writes: >Will Basia ever do a Christmas album??? Is "NO" too abrupt of an answer? When pigs fly, when hell freezes over, when Godzilla becomes a pacifist - that's when Basia will do a Christmas album. Toodles! Yes, January 1997! Yay! I can hardly wait! Yeah, right. Need I remind everyone that THE SWEETEST ILLUSION had an original release date of October-November 1992. Then Tower Record's PULSE! magazine had it listed for March 1993. REALITY CHECK: it didn't come out until May 1994. Actually, the speculations for the release time of this album are coming along at almost the same pace of the last one. This means that some official source should soon be quoting April 1997 as the release date, and then we'll all know for sure that the next album isn't coming out until ****** JULY 1998 ****** Now, of course, they could've been referring to something like an unknown EP or collection of some kind. But since the failure of BOB, I don't think we'll be seeing any more novelty releases by Basia here in the States anytime soon. If it by some impossible chance it DOES come out next month, I'll eat my computer monitor whole. January 1997 - I wouldn't get my hopes up. I mean, are we forgetting what Danny White himself said? Remember "slowly?" Toodles! JSL. ------------------------------ End of basia-digest V1 #296 ***************************
