I am a LONG TIME Basia fan. When will she tour the USA again and when is her next CD due out? Richard ------------------------------ From: BobRumsby Date: Sat, 09 Nov 1996 11:59:02 -0500 Subject: Re: New Album Was last night (Friday Nov 8th) at the Peter White concert in New York. Think I now know where DFF went on walkabouts. But more about that later. In the audiance was not only Peter's Mother, but also Danny White. During the interval, actually got the chance to go up and talk to Danny who was just standing there, with his mother (funny how nobody else reconised him away from the Basia crowd). Well asked the 64,000 dollar question of when the next album was coming out, and he was very very coy to say the least. All he would say was that it was coming along *slowly*. Would not even comment about even an approximate date. Well there it is right from the horses mouth. So to speak. Now more about where I thing DFF is. If you have visited the Peter White webpage, and gone to Concert dates. You will see under Nov 9th that he is in Cleveland, Oh., for a private party. Well the private party is HIS Wedding. That was why the White clan was in New York on the way to the wedding. Wished him and his bride good luck from everybody here. bfn Bob R Paterson NJ May the swartz be with you ------------------------------ From: roach2@juno.com (J.S. Wow! That must've been a treat. You should've asked him when he was going to do a SOLO album! I don't know WHY you guys are fighting this - "der, maybe it'll be done by next summer." 1998. I've said it a billion times and I'll probably say it a billion more. July 1998. Hell, after hearing Danny's reaction, I'm starting to think that's a bit optomistic. Perhaps 1999 isn't so ludicrous. That is to say, if it even gets done. There's still a little hardcore-pessimistic part of me that's convinced that BOB was Basia's last hurrah. I mean, I don't know if they can stop a project once they start it, or how far along they are... but it really wouldn't surprise me to still be sitting here in 1998 with the rest of you, with our proverbial thumbs up our proverbial butts, waiting for something that isn't going to happen. >Now more about where I thing DFF is. >If you have visited the Peter White webpage, and gone to Concert >dates. Nah, she must be back in Biggin Hill working her butt off trying to get that new album finished. Well, I can dream, can't I? Toodles! I guess that means we all should get out our copies of _Time & Tide_ and tonight party like its 1999. > Nah, she must be back in Biggin Hill working her butt off trying to get > that new > album finished. > > Well, I can dream, can't I? Speaking of that... I'm sorry I've been so lax on the video project. The title graphics look pretty good, plus I got Juan's PAL copy of the Matt Bianco videos in the mail last week. I'm going to start assembling all this today, and I should get the MB stuff converted early next week (I hope!). One reason for the delay was my move to a new apartment. Another was the other TV shows I'm working on in my spare time. Still, those aren't real excuses, just imaginary ones. - -- Benjamin L. When I first approached Danny White, I asked him when *the* next album was going to be released. He said *which album*, I then said the Basia one, and as I previously said he was somewhat coy in his reply. I get the very nasty feeling (which I hope is wrong) that perhaps something is wrong with the Basia/Danny White partnership (perhaps DFF would be able to find out more about that), and that she will not release another album as we know her. > >Jeez - I'm surprised Basia herself wasn't there. Well, the "which album" part may be optomistic - perhaps Danny is tired of just sitting around waiting for Basia to get off her duff and is doing session work for other artists. Maybe Mark Fisher died and Mark Reilly needed a new keyboardist... God, wouldn't that be wonderful! As for a possible split, it really wouldn't surprise me, but I don't think its happened - if it were to happen, I don't think we'd be in the dark about it for too long. I'm sure Peter would pass it on to Diane and, hence, we'd know about it. Or, even Dee Anthony would fess up to Doc Drew with something like, "Danny's not working on the next album." I don't think its happened... it wouldn't surprise me to see it happen one day, but I don't think its happened yet. I can't imagine there being a Basia album without Danny White - I mean, who would she collaborate with? Kevin Robinson? Wouldn't that be a disgustingly happy album. There'd be 10 tracks, "I Love You, Pts. 1-10." What a bore. The side b's would probably be "I Love You, Pt. 11" and "I Love You, Pt. 12." Oh, agony. >>Jeez - I'm surprised Basia herself wasn't there. > >Perhaps another example of a possible Basia/White split, or perhaps she went >directly to Cleveland for the Wedding (wonder if the reception was at the >Rock and Roll Hall of Fame hehehehe). >Well perhaps I am once again being too pessimistic. Yes, I think that is a bit overly pessimistic. There could be a million reasons why Basia wasn't there. Toodles!
