Fisli" Date: Fri, 18 Oct 1996 00:31:26 -0700 Subject: PW page - & Basia album Tony, glad you could get onto the site! People sometimes have trouble getting in because the site is more quickly accessed by typing http://peterwhite.com Than http://www.peterwhite.com Honest... At least that's what they tell me at PacificNet. ;) Pleased that you like Peter's newest album, he worked really hard at it to get it just right, and I think it's outstanding. (course, I am a mite biased!) :) And I've been away for a few days at the JazzTrax Festival on Catalina Island... I think that even with this year being the tenth year JazzTrax has had this festival, NEXT year will be the big bash. If any of you plan to make the fest at all, do it in 1997. Art Good is planning a "Best of the Fest" theme, and there were whispers of Grover Washington Jr. - and of course, Peter White... Big rumor at the fest is that Peter White was away in England recording an album with Basia. Well, I just spoke with Peter last night, he's just come home, and told me that he didn't even see Basia when in England... Tho he did talk with her on the phone. Apparently they haven't done anything more on the album - or at least aren't ready to have Peter add any guitar yet - since Peter did some work for them a good while back. So... There ya have it. That's all the news that's fit to holler right now... :) TTFN! --Di. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~ Diane F. (I'm afraid I don't have the original postings anymore.) The stores in Buffalo don't seem to know what I am talking about... Does ANYONE ANYWHERE EVER know what we're talking about when we ask for Basia stuff? Hell, I guess it could be worse - we could be Matt Bianco fans ;). "Matt WHO?" BTW, if Matt Bianco is supposed to be a duo, why are the pictures only ever of one guy (Mark Reilly)? I finally bought "Samba In Your Casa," the other day (what a waste of money that was - hey Phil, you want to buy it!?!?), and the linear notes are filled with these butch photos of Mark Reilly and ONLY Mark Reilly. What's with Mark Fisher? Is he a lepur or something? Anyway - "A New Day" was supposedly reissued by some no name company (Image something rings a bell), but its not like I've seen it at a billion places. Frankly, I've only ever once seen the real thing, and that was back in 1991. CDNow has it listed for sale, so you can probably get the name of the reissue company from them. Don't remember how much it is, though. Toodles! JSL. ------------------------------ End of basia-digest V1 #261 ***************************
