Hey guys: The saga on the infamous Waters Of March CD continue. While it is Jeff's popular belief that it does not exist, apparently it was recorded and it was to be released in Japan where Basia is huge. Basia's management is still trying to locate the CD and, in fact, faxed a note asking for their copies just last week! What does this mean to you and I? Nothing..... I am keeping on top of this situation and as soon as the CD is proven to exist (ie. in my CD player) I'll let everyone know. See ya..... Alright - this is starting to piss me off... (not at any of you, of course - just at this whole situation in general) First off, if there IS (which I don't think there is) a CD - WHAT THE %^&* IS IT!!?!?!? Is it an EP? Is it a tribute album? Is it all Basia or just one Basia track? This, I think, is the most important question one can ask... all that other stuff is secondary. If it IS a tribute album with multiple artists then why have TWO separate importers identified it as being a "Basia-only" release? >What does this mean to you and I? Nothing..... Your damn right - 'cause reguardless of what it is, the U.S. fans ain't gettin' it without paying big bucks. >I am keeping on top of this situation and as soon >as the CD is proven to exist (ie. in my CD player) >I'll let everyone know. I trust Ken's scoops because I know he's getting his info straight from the big banana. But, the big banana is also the one who thought the next Basia album would be finished by this fall... that fact, alone, has really hurt his competency rating in my eyes. Plus, he's not the record company - - there's a big difference between what the big banana says and what the Tokyo suits say... Plus, I don't know why Basia's popularity in Japan has to do with anything because I think its become apparent that THEY don't know what the hell this thing is, either. This is all %^&*ing ridiculous. Toodles! The lurker returneth. David, Yes there are those detractors out there of Miss T's third album, "The Sweetest Illusion", but I think that you'll enjoy it. "Drunk on Love" and "An Olive Tree" are definite classics. Overall, the CD has a lot more spunk than the previous two. Will certainly leave you "yearning" for more ;-{) TTFN Bob James 76133.1633@compuserve.com ------------------------------ From: dleuty@Onramp.NET (Don Leuty) Date: Wed, 16 Oct 96 02:29:15 GMT Subject: Re: new subscriber > David Gallagher wrote: > >Hi. While I personally like her latin-rhythm numbers the most, I find this album very refreshing. In my mind, it further demonstrates her versatility and depth. I hope that this album paves the way for her to do some of the classic blues. Well, us greybeards can dream, anyway, can't we? - ---- Don Leuty dleuty@onramp.net dleuty@aol.com 96d 8'W 34d 11'N ------------------------------ End of basia-digest V1 #258 ***************************
