I also like the small exposure that I've had to South American rhythms, but I must confess that I really haven't heard enough of it yet to develop any solid favorites. The group is fine bunch of folks (if a little opinionated!), and believe me, it's always nice to hear a new voice. Speaking of which, I hope to hear your CD soon-- perhaps they'll have a play copy over at Music Millenium... since I'm about a block away from the NW 23rd store, it's not much trouble for me to go take a look. I hope you're enjoying your stay in this fair city (as I most certainly am), and I look forward to your comments on the newsgroup. All the best, Kevin Segura (soundman@chatlink.com) P.S.- I'm sorry to say that I haven't seen Xena to check on the Mysterious Voices of Bulgaria question... but I do know that some of their material was used in a series of automobile ads a couple of years back. We just saw her perform last night at the gala opening of our new Marine Midland Arena in Buffalo. (She's a Buffalo native, you know.) She did an amazing four song set with our Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra with Doc Severinsen conducting. I must admit I'd never heard of her before, but enjoyed the music. Don't worry about the disco thing...I love it too, and I suspect some of our fellow members may secretly like it also. I like your term "de-cloaked". I'll remember that one. I am also a star trek fan, but kinda of dropped off the after the first season of DSN. Anyway, regarding music, yes the Music Millenium NW should have a play copy of my CD, if not now then definitely after October 1. Music Millenium NE has one now, as well as Local Only, and Twelvth Fret on Hawthorne. I am actullay going to be performing at Music Millenium NW on Nov 2 at 4pm. There's also a list of several other performances on my web site as well as sound clips. I'm looking forward to catching up with what Basia has been doing lately. I haven't heard much since she put out the last CD with "Drunk on Love" on it. I have the disc but can't think of the name. Maybe she's bigger in Europe these days? I also have loved Peter White since his Al Stewart days, of whom I also am a fan. I don't listen to him anymore, but it might be fun to do a version of Year of the Cat sometime :> Anyway, thanks for the welcome, and do go in and ask for my CD. If they don't have it yet that will at least put the name into their consciousness ;> kristy ____________________________________________________________________ Kristy's alternative-jazz CD is available now ! ! !
