No, not "Waters of Mars" film, but "Waters of March" CD!!! This was an album Basia may or may not have recorded, either with or without other people covering Getz & Gilberto tunes. It was supposed to have been re- leased in Latin America but not the United States, thanks to Sony's marketing wisdom. I'm almost afraid that bringing this topic up again will send Roach back to the hospital, bless his cranky little heart. I agree with whoever (Roach? Phil? Di? > Jacki?) said it would be 1998 before she releases another album. Yes, JULY '98 to be more exact. Maybe, perhaps, if hell freezes over, they could possibly get something out by Christmas '97, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Christmas '97 would allow plenty of time to plan for a Summer '98 tour, plus it would be out in time to satisfy Sony's "Christmas Blitzkreig" marketing strategy. Y'know - it still kinda frightens me that Dee Anthony was actually kinda convinced that Basia would have an album out by fall... I mean, talk about being disillusioned... So I got a couple of CD's recently that are considered to be "Acid Jazz". I've been trying to figure out the distinction between that and the light jazz stuff that I've been listening to for lo these many years. It all sounds similar to me. Can anyone explain what I'm missing? BTW, the CD's are Incognito's "100 Degrees And Rising" and "Moving In The Right Direction" by Count Basic. Any fans - any thoughts? Waters in Mars So it is true that NASA recently discovered that there might be life on Mars. Perhaps thats where Basia is recording her *new* album. On the subject of Her Ladyship. Am somewhat new to this channel but am a Basia (nut) Fan. What albums are rare and what videos and Laser discs are also unusual. Is the Time and Tide gold album rare or not???? This is because I do a lot of travelling Internationally and would like to know what exactly to look out for when in music stores and video outlets. Slightly off the subject but somewhat related. The Peter White concert on Nov 8th at the Town Hall in New York. Tickets are now on sale at Ticket Master $35 each. Did u catch that DFF (G). Perhaps Chapman would like to know :):) BTW dff. Was in J&R Record store today, *cruising* and noticed that they had Caravan of Dreams listed at #2 in top Jazz 25. Also off subject but something I found funny. I am a member of Price Club/ Costo warehouse. Tonight I was in there, and picked up their monthly magazine. Inside there is a Competition by Sony. It relates to the Stevie Ray Vaughn Tribute album. As you say, HMMMMMMM.... I'll ask Peter White, see if he has any news... Don't get your hopes up tho, I think the project got bogged down a bit over the summer... Sony Sigs probably means that they have some merchandise on backorder, and it'll be coming in soon from wherever it is made... Or maybe wherever any surplus merchandise landed after the SI tour... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~ Diane F.
