I'll ask Peter to ask Basia, but frankly, I'd rather see *me* there... ;) Actually, I think I heard that Kevin Toney is going to tour with PW and sing JAD... Don't know how true that is... And that's a very poor substitute for Ms T, to my way of thinking... Actually, just forget the song unless you can have Basia singing it... :) Den sed: >You gotta get Peter to tour the Northeast, preferably upstate New >York! We'd love to see him here. (Yeah, I know, he was here with >Basia, but that's not the same.) I'll pass the word... See if you know of any clubs near you that might book an act like his, and have them call Variety (booking agent, see the info page on the website) to get him... >BTW, was that "Steve Reid" on the list from the Rippingtons? He's >an absolutely fantastic percussionist. We saw them here in March. >They brought the house down. Steve Reid *is* in the Ripps band, and yes, that's him... He is awesome, with a capital AWE!!! Has a new solo album out, something about water, I think... Hmmmm... (sounds of Diane digging through debris and empty diet pepsi cans on her desk) (clatter, crash, swish, MIAOW, oh there you are, Axle-butt!) AH!!! WATER SIGN. That's his new album (don't have it yet, just a promo flier) (it says to check out Water Sign at http://www.magicisland.com/bamboo)... Saw him at the Greek with the Ripps, he said he'd be touring on his own in August to support the new album... Got my fingers crossed that I can go take photos of the guy... Imagine! That would be SOOOO KEWL!!! :) Phil sed: >I stuck around watching the junk recycle thru the video bank for a few >more minutes. Phil, you really are a laugh riot. :) I'll have to go see if I can wangle (steal) this disk from some Sears (larceny, it's in my blood!)... Hmmm... Anybody have a laser disk player, or do I have to steal that, too??? ;) You know, I have to tell you, I really enjoy this mailing list... We aren't stuffy pedantics like some people on some lists I belong to (that shall remain nameless), we're a bunch of lunatics (well, the most vocal amongst us, anyhow!) (HA!)... And a lot of fun... Check out Peter's website, I changed a few things on pwweb7.htm that will definitely hurt your eyes... ;) TTFN! --Di. ps - I was *not* at the Caravan of Dreams last night! :( However, Peter called me from the club where they were rehearsing before the show, and it was weird, because when he called the tune Caravan of Dreams was on my cd player, and also playing in the background at the club... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~ Diane F. This guy he wanted to help. Phil, you are indeed King of the Retail Weirdos. Even my rather brief but tortureous tour of duty at Wal-Mart a few years back didn't yield anyone as straightforwardly odd as you apparently are. You have earned my deepest respect. That sort of lunacy takes big brass cajones - well done my aging New England friend. Incidentally, the ONLY way we're going to get this disc is to send Dennis into his Sears with a $20 bill in palm - he's going to have to make nice with one of the sales cronies and slip him the aforementioned piece of currency. There is no other way. And Phil's the only one crazy enough to go the other route, and that methodology has obviously failed... Toodles! When Dennis mentioned the Sears lead, I found myself in a position to follow up. I am really PISSED OFF that it amounted to nada. I am almost ready to apply for a spot as a Sears sales crank, except I recall I am supposed to complete the stuff in which I am now involved, so I have to come up with another way to access the footage. Hmmmmmmm........mebbe I could pose as a BMI or is it ASCAP auditor, checking out UNAUTHORIZED promos being distributed illicitly,......hhhmmmmm.......hhhmmmmm. Uh oh. No. Don't own a tie.
