That's my birthday, after all.... Phil, you might try going to the Caravan of Dreams club in Fort Worth TX on 7-27, Peter's doing a show and there's kinda a album release party happening... I can't say for sure that they're giving away the album to everyone who attends, but they might give you the single... Oh, and birthy-hapday, bud! ;) Roach commented on my following suggestion: >> And a list of titles/subjects of future songs... > >Oh, Diane! What a WONDERFUL idea! Yes, I'd say the same thing about the song... It *is* different from the typical Danny/Basia type song (I think Peter's music is gentler, softer)... I rather like it... But I *am* a bit biased... It also affected me in a personal way since I know where the song comes from... Anyhoo, I know you all were thinking, maybe this time she won't come back. ;) heheh I'm still here.... My computer is better - modem woes over, only to find myself with a power supply that started fluctuating, a hard drive that got corrupted because of it, facing a 3-4 week return on an RMA, buying a new hard drive, fighting with the computer place to get them to replace my power supply - I kept telling them I would gladly pay for one, just replace it, and they kept telling me there was nothing wrong with it... Turns out *I* was right all along, so they replaced it for free... I RMA'ed my old hard drive, and bought a new 1 gig hard drive... When the RMA comes back, I'll have a 1 gig and a 1.2 gig hard drive in my computer.... Scary... Now if Microsoft and Iomega would just come to terms on getting Win95 to recognize my Bernoulli 150 drive, I'd be happier than... Dennis, First - have you gotten the CD yet? Second - Where did you see the "Drunk on Love" video? I've only ever seen a 5 or 6 second clip of it (before the August `94 Today Show performance) and telling from that, it looked kinda corny (ala Promises) with, like, shots of people dancing on some generic street or something. But I'd always assumed that part of it was probably Basia sitting in some car getting reamed by some cop because she'd just wrapped her car around a telephone pole (or something like that). My son and I were shopping there, going up the escalator, when, for some reason I glanced over my shoulder, and noticed in the TV department on the lower level, Basia's face all over the large screen TV's. I lost sight of the area while going up, but it looked like a video that I didn't recognize seeing before, so we made a quick trip down again and hurried over to the TV's. I saw about the last minute or two and then a Sears commercial started. When I realized it was coming from the laser disk player on top of the projection sets, I grabbed the remote and rewound it. (Don't you just love the way those things shuttle?) Anyway, my son cranked up the volume and we watched the whole thing through again. I really enjoyed it. My son told me to look like I was interested in the sets, but I just wanted to bask in the glory of it all. So we turned up the volume a bit more. Yes, it was a little less than serious, but a good piece just the same. There were many, and I emphasize MANY, shots of her and Kevin Robinson together, in a car, on the street, etc. They looked very close and quite nice together. It looked like it was shot on the streets of London, intercut with her in a breezy studio. (I think I saw Danny White's hands too, on the keyboards.) BTW, her closeups were fantastic. She looked just gorgeous. She definitely came from the softer side of Sears. :) I asked the clerk where the disk came from. She said corporate sends out the disks for in-store demos. I didn't have time to search around any more on the disk. But from what I saw, it was full of videos, with Sears ads in between them. I don't know anybody who works for Sears, but I would sure like to get a copy. Now that I think of it, I remember seeing a few moments of the Yearnings video there some months ago. She must have been the official female vocalist of Sears...before Gloria Estefan, that is. So, you folks all get your little behinds to Sears and check out the large screen TV's. (Find the Pioneer remote and search for yourself!) Better yet, if anyone has connections, this would be a definite plus for the video collection that Ben is working on.
