Welcome, Andy - - I'm sure you'll enjoy the conversations once they get up and running again (we seem to be in a lull period). Next: as for "WATER (not Waters you gimboid!) of March" - its a tribute album of some sort to Antonio Jobim which Basia allegedly has a track on... no one really knows for sure yet because no one's seen it yet. Sony Japan is supposed to have released it by now, but... no luck in finding it as of yet. Any other questions for the big brain? ;) Toodles! ********************************* R O A C H ********************************* * The Roach Motel @ http://zeus.towson.edu/~jlohr1 -- Bugs are people, too * * He loves Yugoslavians, Boba Fett, Chunky Chicken, and Yummy British Cows * ***************************************************************************** ************* "Live every day as if it were your last `cause ************* ************* sooner or later, you'll be right." - Hal Roach ************* ********************************* R U L E S ********************************* ------------------------------ From: Jason_Siciliano@imad.com Date: Wed, 3 Jul 96 15:23:09 -0800 Subject: RE> Re- New Member RE> Re: New Member 7/3/96 To basia@smoe.org I'm a Basia fan. Have been since '88. I went to her show in Berkley in '93 and bought every goddamn souvenir with the word "Basia" on it. Seriously. My girlfriend thought I was getting obsessed. She dumped me. Too bad for her. Thing is, I started believing I was obsessed. You know, Basia overload or something. But now I know I'm OK. Or at least, better than some. How do I know this? Because I've been on this Basia e-mail list for about two weeks. And you guys are nuts. I get anywhere from eight to twenty of these e-mail things a day. This is the first time I've actually replied (mostly because I don't have anything to contribute to the video/ audio collection). And I just want to say "Thank You." You make me feel normal again. Or at least, abnormally the same. Anyway, I can't wait to get my hands on some of the video and audio you all have been gathering. It sounds fantastic. If you need any help with the editing or video transfer, let me know. I work in advertising. I can do that kind of thing pretty easily. What's that old saying about glass houses and throwing stones? BTW - did ya buy the hat? `Cause the word "Basia" didn't appear on the hat (it only had that Streisand-rip off logo on the front and some "World Tour" gibberish on the back). Get it right, newbie! ;) > Seriously. My girlfriend thought I was > getting obsessed. She dumped me. Too bad for her. Trust me, you're not. I have met the world's most in-need-of-help Basia fan at the Columbia, MD show back in `94 (not `93). I don't think any of us even come remotely close to this man's pitiful psychosis... or at least, none of us would ever face up to it. ;) > Thing is, I started believing I was obsessed. And you > guys are nuts. Hmm... "nuts" in what sense, if I may ask? "Nuts" as in, funny? Or, like, "nuts" as in sicko psychopathic "I'll mail a love letter to you and then shoot the President" kinda "nuts?" > I get anywhere from eight to twenty of these e-mail things a > day. HELL-O - what list are you on, laddie? `Cause it sure as hell ain't the one I'm on. Eight to twenty messages a day? Geez, I don't think we've had 20 messages in one day since BOB came out... and even if we WERE doing that kind of message exchange from day to day, you should still be thankful that that's all you get - I mean, I'm subscribed to lists that, when not on digest mode, can get up to 200 messages on a good day. We have a tightly-knit little group here, which is (I think) why we can act so casual with one another. Once you get into the loop, I think you'll see that we're quite a normal bunch of guys and gals. Except, of course, for Phil. ;) > This is the first time I've actually replied (mostly > because I don't have anything to contribute to the video/ > audio collection).
