I wondered that myself until I met Helen, she is a really great lady, and apparently is much more than "just" a make-up artist. After observing the two of them (Basia & Helen) together it wasn't difficult to see that they are close and true friends and that, in any professional touring musician's book, is a really important thing. Ah, that explains it... I hear elephant drivers are are *very* faithful! :) Phil also observes: >Hey! Now I can't get it out of my head. I know the feeling... I *KNOW* the feeling... :) Peter can really wail on the electric guitar, it's a shame he doesn't do it more often. What kills me is that he is also an amazing keyboardist/pianist, and that he's not known for that at all... I was thinking the other day that I really prefer his piano playing to Danny's... (oh oh, heresy, here come the Matt Bianco/DW fans to lynch me!) But I'm serious. I think it's something in the way Peter *finesses* the keys... Danny's playing is a bit more aggressive... I suppose my preference is a bit biased, but there ya have it... Peter was originally hired by Al Stewart to be a keyboardist, and Al had no idea he could play the guitar until they were recording the "Year Of The Cat" album and needed a Spanish guitar player... The rest, as it is said, is history... :) Shameless plug: If anyone really likes saxophone music, Peter's sax player Dave Camp (who also used to work with Al Stewart, tho not on YOTC) has his first solo album out entitled "Torrid Rain"... Several tunes are co-penned with PW, and Peter plays on quite a few cuts as well... It's on the Blue Orchid label, and if you can't find it, e- me and I'll send you details on how to order it from Dave... Dennis sed: >My God, finally someone of my own generation. Gads, they're coming out of the woodwork now, all us "old farts" we never thought we'd be! (heh!) The list in general is probably a bit older than you think, Dennis, I'd imagine most of us are baby-boomers who grew up in the 50's/60's and because of that we appreciate the kind of music Basia and Danny put out there for us! Kinda off-topic, I guess, but you know how people get when they find out they share the same interests or experiences... Kinda like this list! :) And now for something completely different: I really like the internationality of this list, Dody, your posts are terrific. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~ Diane F.
