Anyway, on a more relevant note, I'm curious to hear some responses to my following idea: With summer riding high on the horizon bringing with it the promise of some well-deserved slacking hours for myself, I'm thinking of putting together one super-duper bootlegged collection of Basia TV performances for the benefit of those out there who seem to be aching for video stuff. I could probably fit a basic all-out collection on a 160 minute tape, so... If anyone has any interest in this, let me know and I'll see what I can come up with... if not, go back whatever it was that you were doing. I have a poor original of her Tonight Show appearance from 1988, plus the VH1 LWNY special, the Lauren Hutton appearance, both GMA appearances, and Letterman and Leno from TSI. I saw Letterman for T&T, but didn't tape it. I had another idea... a bit more radical. I have contacts, with my ACTV public access work, to try and see if I can get broadcast copies of her videos for TSI (and earlier). I'm going to see if I can get Sony to send anything to me or to my friends. If so, I'll edit together a Basia special for airing here in Austin, then I will be able to make copies of it for all of you! Don't get too excited... this might not work. However, since I do have a legit promo outlet for Basia material here, I might stand a chance. - -- Benjamin L. But, it could appear on the bootleg copy for our group, right? :) Dennis - ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Dennis J. Exactly! This is what I referred to as Jeff the PRO. Only someone being paid to do this sort of thing would do it. Are you secretly a SONY plant, here to get us riled, and therefore interested in Basia (who's that?) and forcing us to anticipate the next release, or what? Anyway, yes I would beinterested in seeing your entire collection of B-vids (put the VH-1 show at the end, so I can stop viewing at that point, OK?) to see what I am missing. I never located my copy of the first Letterman appearance, BTW. I suspect the worst.... Since I have never seen ANY of the TSI stuff, I would probably go so far as getting a satellite dish just to point it at your outlet for the airing. However, having a copy of the show sounds more reasonable, so I encourage you to do what you can. Phil ------------------------------ From: "J.S. For instance, I know places in Russia where video duplicating can be done for lowest prices America has ever heard of, and Russia does not care for any copyrights or other legal problems.
