Roach sez (about Blue Rondo A La Turk): >Danny White doesn't >get credit for anything (which makes me think that his involvement in >Blue Rondo has been a bit overblown). The tourbook sez that he was on their debut album as a pianist. First album is called 'Chewing The Fat'. His connection to Blue Rondo was from Bronze and Tessa Webb, and her husband Richard Niles (who produced Blue Rondo). It is also, of course, where he started working with Mark Reilly. Roach also sez (about Basia on PW's new album): >Diane - you do realize that if the track doesn't appear on the album, we >will hunt you down and kill you. :D ROTFL! Yes, but maybe you'll also be mad enough to bomb Sony, after all, they'd be responsible for it not getting on the album, and they're also a bit easier to find than me... ;-) Haven't heard a thing yet from Peter, and I'm sure he's *much* more anxious about this than I. :) BTW, *was* there a tour program for T&T tour??? Can't imagine there not being one, but I wasn't there (no money at the time!), so I couldn't say. I'm intrigued by the idea that Basia was in Chicago right about the same time I started living there -- in a neighborhood I used to frequent... I'm not saying I actually saw her, because that would be a lie, but it *is* kinda interesting in retrospect, considering the music scene in Chicago at the time... (I was a habitue' of folk and blues clubs). Oh well. Tried to fix my car today, got nothing but frustrated. I need a bigger hammer. (hee!) TTFN! --Di. ------------------------------ From: "J.S. Here's the thing: This place had ALOT of singles by Blue Rondo. Each one carries on it a list of musicians appearing on the songs - as mentioned before, Mark Reilly and Kito Poncioni appear on all, but Danny doesn't appear on a single one. But, none of the singles actually say that the songs are pulled from "Chewing the Fat" (which I have been unable to track down as of yet). I assume that most probably are, but... Plus, Blue Rondo seemed to have a revolving door-type membership. The band list never seems to be the same twice on each of the singles - sometimes Blue Rondo had as many as 8 members, sometimes only 7, then 9 - but they seemed to have a core membership of about 5 people, including Mark and Kito, that stayed consistent. > His connection to Blue Rondo was from Bronze and Tessa Webb, and her > husband Richard Niles (who produced Blue Rondo). But not exclusively, apparently... many of the singles cite Godley and Creme as being the producers. If only I could find the full album, I think that would answer a lot of questions. > is also, of course, where he started working with Mark Reilly. And don't forget poor Kito Poncioni, the man who is partially responsible for bringing us "Half a Minute." > ROTFL! Geez, that's a new one for me.
