If you're looking for the Basia sound, Dionne Warwick style, this is it! p.s. The "c" in "marco" has a little thingie underneath so it's sounded like an "s." p.p.s. I also have the lyrics in Portuguese (Portagee) if you wish! ------------------------------ From: "J.S. Lohr" Date: Thu, 28 Mar 1996 00:39:44 -0500 (EST) Subject: More Than I Can Bear Ok...I currently listening to the American tape version of "Matt Bianco" - - I've finally gone full-blown-boffo-gonzo-bezerk. Doesn't look like it, eh? You're probably asking, "well, if Roach has finally lost it, where's the rabid foam? Where's the capitalized vulgarity? Where's the online screaming?" Well, ok, maybe I haven't gone off the edge yet... but... there it is! The object of my insanity! On the tape deck, right now - the still intact version of "More Than I Can Bear;" possibly the only edge that American Matt Bianco/Basia fans have on the rest of the free world. Or do we? I know both the U.S. tape and vinyl versions of WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON? have the vocals, and so does the rereleased version (same thing) on the U.S. tape and vinyl versions of MATT BIANCO (well, that is to say, I THINK the vinyl versions have them...I have both, but they are promo LP copies which are still in the cellophane and I'm not about to open them just to back up my claim, so if I'm wrong I'm sure one of you will tell me). Anyway, after giving my tape copy of WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON? to Dennis shortly after picking up the French version of WSAYO on CD, I'm left with only one playable (like I said, I AIN'T opening up those promos) copy, which is on tape. Needless to say, the French CD contains the butchered version of "More Than I Can Bear" (along with the alternate mix of "Matt's Mood") and not the intact one. The point of all this driveling? IS THERE ANY CD ON THE FACE OF THIS EARTH THAT _STILL_ HAS BASIA'S VOCALS ON "More Than I Can Bear?" We know the French version doesn't, I think the German version is also butchered, and the version on the Greatest Hits CD is butchered. I seem to remember Dirk mentioning that he had the still intact version on some CD, but I forget which...perhaps a CD single? Or maybe on the Japanese CD version of WSAYO (grrr)? It was the same message in which he mentioned that the song accompanying the video for "More Than I Can Bear" (I can only imagine what that looked like) was the intact version. Someone help me! And I know I'm not the only one with this question. Or, perhaps we won't have to worry about it for too long; after all, Atlantic could always reissue WSAYO on CD here in the States. Maybe it can be released on the same day as Sony releases WATER OF MARCH (grrr) here. Well, I can dream, can't I? Nah, it'll never happen. Toodles!
