BTW, to John or Den: did either one of you try to get a list of songs off of this "goober?" > I just want to hold the disc in my hand when I call Sony publicity again. We ought to take up a collection and buy them a copy. :D BTW, if anyone is thinking about buying this mysterious NON-BOOTLEGGED disc but doesn't want to spend the $40 to get it, CD Europe is selling a copy for a little more reasonable price of $27...I thought their copy was used at first, but then I noticed that all the CD's on the list were labeled "USD" so, it may NOT be used. Or they may ALL be used. Plus, they're selling the "Half A Minute" single (Japanese CD Single) for somewhere in the neighborhood of $15 (for those of you who might've missed out on Ken's offer). I knew it wasn't a bootleg. Toodles! This is... ============================================================================= Like ohmigod! Roach has a homepage! I was browsing around their listings last night. I noted that the domestic release (not the import) of Level 42's "Level Best" collection was about $ 23 or so. I just picked that one up locally at Media Play for $12.98 last week. Why the big discrepancy? That's a hell of a markup! Maybe I should change my line of work... BTW, what is the "new single to be announced" and why are there two different prices? Since CD Europe can be reached from around the world, they have to specify the currency type. I think I'll go to CD Europe right now and place my order. Are you sure it was "Level Best," because I just saw that listed for $41, but it was the Japanese version. There were two others, "On a Level" (one of which was labeled "On a Level" (Best)) one from Japan, one from Austrailia. The Austrailian version was $23. Anything labeled "A" I believe is supposed to be Austrailian, not American. And the "On A Level" CDs are different than the "Level Best" CD. Plus, I don't think they'd rip someone off by THAT much! On the other hand... > BTW, what is the "new single to be announced" and why are there two > different prices? What do you think I've been screaming about for the last 3 months! That's the CD that I've been theorizing about, i.e. is it "Angels Blush" or maybe "Half a Minute" or maybe something else? And you're right, they've got it listed twice in the catalog with two different prices but both have the same catalog ## (and THEY ain't bootlegs, either). > (So now there are three of us going out on a limb:) Yeah, but you guys don't get charged for it until it gets sent to you (because you used a credit card, I assume). I already sent them the moolah so if they can't get this for me I'm gonna end up having to pick other selections until I get one that they have in stock. And I'm assuming by now that no one else on the list knows what this thing is because I'm sure that someone would've come forward with a "Duhh, I had it all along," message by now. Toodles! I had it do a US search and it came back with the origin listing showing "D" which I took to mean domestic. It was $23.98 - eleven dollars more than what I paid (of course, I paid no shipping either). Are people really paying these prices? If so, I need to get a piece of that action. Counting the weeks...
