Just kidding...actually, that's the best way to tell whether or not the store owners/stockers know anything about less mainstream music, by whether the MB stuff is under "B" or "M." I've seen both, but the better stores with the rarer selections (except for those idiots at Best Buy) seem to have Mr. Reilly and friends under "M." BTW, does anyone here live in the Pittsburg area? If so, PLEASE e-mail me direct...I have a question for you. Thanks, folks. Oh yes, and Marc Reilly can sing the word "suddenly" with an english accent.... By the way...when searching for Matt Bianco...I look under M and B. Rare stores in the US have them under M (which is technically correct because it's a group)...but most places have it under B (people think that Mark Reilly is "Matt") - -- Sew_N_Quilt ------------------------------ From: juan paxety Date: Sun, 21 Jan 1996 10:10:19 -0500 Subject: Half a Minute I'll put my employment by Fox Television to work and call Sony. Yes, that's right...while pumping gas in the Roachmobile, I heard the mysterious Ben's Phone Mix of "Half a Minute" over the gas muzak speakers. I got a good listen and managed to stay for the entire song. It is definitely: a) A studio version b) Brand new (ie 1995) Jeff, Welcome to the club!! Now, where can I buy a copy? Apparently it's being played via satellite delivered music services. We have to find out how to get a dub of it. Den IF YOUR ALL LOOKING FOR 'HALF A MINUTE', I'VE GOT THE SINGLE OF THIS SONG. IT'S GOT THE LIVE VERSION, AND THE STUDIO VERSION. BUT I DIDN'T THINK THAT THIS WAS ANYTHING NEW! BECAUSE I'VE SEEN IT AROUNG HERE IN THE STATES! I don't mean to deny BOB's appeal by saying things like "it was a commercial mistake," or "I just plain didn't like it," but if this album does indeed turn out to be a farewell-greatest-hits-in-disguise, then I'm sure I won't be the only one who's peeved about it. My thoughts on the album I think are more like Ben's: I'd much rather hear the studio versions of these songs on the old albums than hear some alright versions on the live album. I mean, yes, the solos are nice and the sound quality is fairly good, but if this does turn out to be the last album I would've much rather preferred a REAL greatest hits, ie a two-cd masterpiece with, say, five to ten unreleased tracks or alternate versions which have slipped through the cracks throughout the years. Maybe even get an accompanying video collection, complete with all the lost videos from "The Sweetest Illusion." And when I say that this album was a "commercial mistake," what I mean is: with this albums' ultra-poor sales, all it does is give Sony another excuse NOT to promote her or any future albums that she might have, or at least, to not promote her as much as they might've before this live album fell through the floor. Hence, I wouldn't be surprised to see a future Basia album (if there is one) appear on a new label. I would like to think that Dee Anthony isn't an idiot and that he wouldn't continue to put up with Basia's apparently poor treatment by Sony. And, like I've said before, one good thing will probably come out of a Basia retirement: a Danny White solo album!!! ============================================================================== Paradise is: | | "There are three constants in life: 1.
