At the time I wrote that, I meant every word and still stand by what I wrote then, it was relevant and informed based on track record at the time of writing 12 years ago. I also believe that since then things have improved a lot more in terms of web presence, informing of tours in advance etc all the things that many of us complained of here. A lot of effort time and and cost has gone into some unreleased projects and I know the lack of confirmed release dates will gnaw away at fans including myself but no matter what is released when it eventually is, there will still be a lot of dissent and unhappiness with what is eventually released in among the praise that the releases will be given too, that's fans for you. I agree that there are releases in the past few years mentioned on other posts here recently that could have been better and had more content aimed at the avid fans. As a fan I find this frustrating but I have got used to that. The release of certain products being put back and is certainly frustrating for whatever reasons there may be behind that but that is something that has been going on since as far as I can remember no matter who 'team BF' are and are involved in that. I can't remember how many release dates we had for Boys And Girls 30 years ago. I don't think Mr Ferry would consider anyone he employs as a flunky. I am sure everyone he employs will have a particular task that is important to him and he appreciates that so I think it would be insulting to him and anyone he employs to suggest anything different. The protracted delay in many of the releases may be something that happens with Ferry/Roxy more than most artists but then again he is no ordinary rock star. Frustrating I know, but as a fan I either take that or leave it. I'm guessing the original box set would have contain a newly "polished" sound, perhaps a 2-3 disc set (out-takes, alternate recordings & 5.1 version) and a booklet with a few pages of notes from those there at the time. Things have changing dramatically with box sets recently with 180grm vinyl included, memorabilia collected from fans, boxed in a lavish 12 x 12 replica of the album sleeve, archive recordings from cassettes etc etc etc. Most of this for me would be superfluous. All I'm looking for is to put that 5.1 disc into the Blu-ray machine and hear one of the most brilliant debut recoding in its full glory. So I patiently wait. It's good to see this list resurrected from the ashes. Perhaps if we could find a positive topic?
