Laverne's father Les Gofton played guitar with Paul Thompson in John Miles'
band The Influence.It's a bit of a stretch to call that 'the band that went on
to become Roxy Music', although he was also in a band called Jazzboard with
Bruce Lowes (who was in the Banshees with BF for a couple of months).

Like
most local music scenes there's a fairly incestuous crossover of band DNA so
other connections are possible..
