Ferry's career stretches back to the release of Roxy Music's debut album in 1972 with the musician having sold over 30 million albums worldwide across eight Roxy Music LPs and 13 solo releases. To celebrate and mark the 40th year anniversary of his career both as a solo artist and as the creator of Roxy Music, Ferry has recently re-recorded some of his own compositions, performed by The Bryan Ferry Orchestra in the style of the 1920s. The collection will be the first of three new albums to be released by BMG. The new album - The Jazz Age - will be released on November 26 in the UK and Scandinavia, November 27 in Italy, November 30 in GSA, December 3 in Spain and Benelux and December 10 in France, with the US following in the New Year. "I have always liked to be hands-on with every aspect of the release of my records, and the BMG deal offers a new way of doing things," said Ferry. The agreement was concluded by BMG's UK operation with Ferry's manager Alistair Norbury. BMG Chrysalis UK SVP Alexi Cory-Smith said: "Bryan Ferry is a consummate artist with an incredible command of detail and understanding of how he wants his music to be presented to the world. We are delighted that he has chosen to partner with BMG as custodian of his rights." Ferry's manager Alistair Norbury said, "From the moment we met with [BMG CEO] Hartwig [Masuch] and Alexi, it became clear that the BMG model was very well suited to work with Bryan's creative team at Studio One in London. "Being able to put a bespoke team around future releases is very attractive to an artist and we are delighted to have partnered with BMG internationally on both publishing and masters." BMG is already the world's fourth largest music publishing company. Earlier this year it announced its intention to double its revenue in 2012 from releasing records. BMG CEO Hartwig Masuch said: "The signing of Bryan Ferry is a clear sign of the seriousness of our intent in the record business. "BMG is the fastest-growing music company in history, something we have achieved both through organic growth and by acquisition. "In our next stage of development, we are committed to ratcheting up our activity in recording rights. The key to our growth is offering artists an alternative, which recognises that the world has changed. We believe artists deserve better - and we are determined to give them the 21st century resources and service they demand.
