I could be wrong but that strikes me as being a potential problem. A parallel universe example (and much more complicated, I agree) is the release of the 60's Batman TV series on to DVD. You'd think that'd be available by now wouldn't you? It is on illegal copies but an official release isn't available because the different license holders (DC Comics, the TV company etc) can't come to an agreement. Having said that there is a lot of archive Roxy / Ferry material that I'd love to see and we can live in hope. I still suspect that there is an old undiscovered reel to reel tape of Ferry fronting Jug Band/Gas Board/Banshees -- I would LOVE to hear how he sounded back in the day. Even if Ferry didn't know he was being recorded. > > As for the 1974 Ferry solo shows -- I recall that they were at least tape recorded if not filmed. Ferry is unsigned right now, isn't isn't he? How hard would it be to touch up the audio and release it privately or via direct download from bryanferry.com? I would die happy if I could hear that show. > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: Chris Turner > > To: "avalon@smoe.org" > > Cc: > > Sent: Saturday, June 2, 2012 9:20 AM > > Subject: Re: [AVALON] Interesting article on web > > > >T here was a similar discussion on my forum a couple of years back. > > http://www.roxyrama.org/forum/topics/thank-god-for-bruce-lowes > > > > > > Bruce Lowes > > subsequently contacted me and joined the forum. I don't think any recordings exist of The Gas Board. As for the 74 RAH gig, there is film of this on YouTube with a separate audio recording dropped over it, but it works. From memory I think it's The In Crowd. J Sent from my iPad On 1 Jun 2012, at 21:36, Victor Hastings wrote: > Fascinating indeed. When I'm on Avalon, I tend to operate in wishful mode. I have no idea what licensing issues might be holding back the release of those concerts.
