Hi,

I'm pleased to be able to report that the 22nd of November 1973 edition
of Top Of The Pops featuring Roxy Music's Street Life appears to have been
found earlier this year. The British Film Institute were holding a copy in
their archives, but because of a cataloguing error, it had
remained unnoticed for years.

A fan called Gary Haggarty had noticed the
discrepancy and asked the BFI to investigate, which they did successfully.
Gary emailed me back in September and I directed him to BF's Office. All the
credit is due to Gary for his observation and persistence.

This is the
original broadcast-quality negative and soundtrack which I understand will be
digitised shortly. I'm told the BBC has been notified of its existence. I
would hope we might see this gem soon. This is Roxy at the peak of their
powers, with Stranded heading for the UK No.1 album spot.

from TOTP who "discovered" the lost Bowie tape of "Jean  
Genie" which was
aired tonight on the Beeb says he has "a hundred such tapes" in 
his
collection.
