I was referring to my personal anticipation (mixed with some ambivalence) for the upcoming Strathmore show. Ambivalence, because BF's voice can be spotty and he compensates for those times by relying on backing vocals. However, after the first lyrical line my anxiety vanished. Sandra: "A return may be sooner than we think, but I won't hold my breath. I wonder if there is enough time to prepare a different set list by March?" There is no doubt in my mind that If another Ferry tour could be arranged for March 2012 a different set list is well within their ability, but any show will always include a number of Ferry/Roxy 'standards' - the question becomes, 'what percentage'. Sandra: "On the topic of becoming crusties, was anybody else (well, among the three of us) insulted by the "recent BF interview" comment that he enjoys the younger audiences because they're better dancers-10 out of 10?! " Ha ha. I laughed when I read that - typical Ferry. - Younger (females) are 'eye-candy' for the 'Dandy'. Of course he'd like to seduce an additional (younger) market segment - crusties are a dying crowd. Sandra, I find it remarkable that you are only 41 years old - born circa 1970 - you must have been very precocious to have cultivated an interest in "Avalon" at such a tender age! No matter, welcome to the list. I defer to list members who are thoroughly schooled in RM/BF to offer any plausible answers to your wanting "to know thoughts from you professionals who have met them, been to shows around the world, and participated in the RM experience since the early seventies. Impressions, insights, disagreements, intimate details - I welcome any thoughts about the failure of US audiences to embrace RM.", as would I. Can't find your keys? Look in your hand - it always works for me! Happy Trails.
