Yes folks, having said I couldnbt make it, Graham Madame Fiske and Colette changed my mind and there I was shaking my ponytail last night at the RCH. It was brilliant and it truly felt like the best of the breunion tour yearsb when we all converged! Great stuff and herebs to the next time. t From: jocelynfiske Sent: 18 April 2018 11:23 To: Therese O'Donnell ; Graham John Fairlie ; avalon@smoe.org Subject: RE: [AVALON] 2018 tour Highlight of the Glasgow gig for me was seeing Trez and Graham again after umpteen years. Avalon became superseded by social media and, like leaves, we drifted away. But I think we all made some fantastic friends there. Looking forward to bumping into more of the usual suspects en route. Donbt do Facebook so still cling onto bthe listb as an albeit diminished source of great information, entertainment and many new friends. Canbt believe itbs almost 20 years (next year) since I joined and I have enjoyed many a good evening in the company of the Glasgow Chapter and the btourersb over the years. Enjoy Edinburgh. I will be at Kelvingrove in Glasgow in the summer praying for no rain. I did try on the Monaco Grand Prix and Ferry at the Opera Garnier as a wee double header trip in May but my suggestion fell on stoney ground with my wife. For those who werenbt there, my highlights of last night: Jorja Chalmers self assured and confident in her status as a regular. New girl Marina Moore could have been a recording of Eddie Jobson on OOTB Mark Bullen bouncing along with the look of someone enjoying themselves. Power and deftness in equal measure. Jerry Meehan: funky, energetic and dapper The wonderful Chris Spedding seemed to be charting his own course: a day late and a dollar short in many respects, lacking some energy and carrying out the duties of 3 or 4 guitarists on recent tours. Can still see the leather clad, slick haired dude with Gibson Flying V though (and loved when he partnered Robert Gordon). Others were pretty anonymous. The Maestro? Roxy Lite set designed not to stretch (and a gig only every other night) meant he relied less on the backing singers than in recent times. It was fun. I will continue to show up as long as he does - each time thinking this is going to finish all too soon. Last time I was at that venue was to see a 91 year old Tony Bennett! And the audience? Aforementioned list ladies excepted, of course, pretty old and lacking energy too. RCH is next to the site of the old Apollo, back in the day they would have screamed the place down for that second encore - it was not optional. Last night we filed out meekly and faded into the night. Great to catch up. As ever, next time... Regards.
