LIVE This is customized AND ready-made. Virtual CD tree #6. A large number of shows from the Manifesto tour were recorded for radio (and TV), but out of them all I think the ones from the Pasadena Civic and Hammersmith Odeon capture the performance and atmosphere best, and the majority of this live collection is drawn from those two shows. Most of the Manifesto songs didn't survive past the 1979 tour. Trash and Angel Eyes made it through to 1980 then vanished. Dance Away was ignored in 1979, debuted in 1980 and has been there pretty much ever since, and Stronger Through The Years reappeared in Ferry's solo set a couple of years ago. My Little Girl and Spin Me Round are yet to make a live appearance. Thanks once again to Dick for the artwork and also to JO'B for sending through a low-gen transfer of Cry Cry Cry (my copy is mostly hiss and distortion). Manifesto... LIVE 1. Manifesto (Hammersmith Odeon, London, 18 May 1979) 2. Trash (Wembley Arena, 2 August 1980) 3. Angel Eyes (Pasadena Civic Auditorium, California, 21 April 1979) 4. Still Falls The Rain (Hammersmith Odeon, London, 18 May 1979) 5. Stronger Through The Years (Pasadena Civic Auditorium, California, 21 April 1979) 6. Ain't That So (Hammersmith Odeon, London, 18 May 1979) 7. Dance Away (Westfalenhalle, Dortmund, 21 September 2001) 8. Cry Cry Cry (Johanneshov Isstadion, Stockholm, 24 February 1979)* BONUS TRACK 9. I suppose there's no recording available of the alternate version of Manifesto (which I like better than the original)? ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 27 Sep 2016 16:22:39 -0700 From: Alan Heaton Subject: Re: [AVALON] Siren LIVE Oh wow - I see the Manifesto Tree has sprouted! It's an embarrassment of riches! Thank you, Simon and Dick - I really like the Live Siren. The Live Country Life is still my favorite (I am wearing out those digital files...), but this is also quite good and great to hear. I love the version of "Whirlwind"! I do think it's odd that Roxy Music never recorded live versions of "End of the Line" and "Just Another High" - does anyone know why? It seems there are other songs that would be harder to reproduce live - I don't get it. In any case, thank you so much! This is so much fun... :) Cheers, Alan On Sun, Sep 25, 2016 at 4:38 AM, Evans Richard wrote: > Magnificent work - a couple of things stand out for me > > 1.
