LIVE Stranded is a great album and marks the transition between 'old' and 'new'. Edwin J brings a touch of musicality to the show and the whole thing sounds like a glorious stew. Psalm's New Orleans wonkiness is accentuated live and Andrew is given full rein. Think those funeral marches in Live and Let Die and the second half of Psalm - yeah baby. I understand Psalm was one of the first songs Roxy ever did in the very early days - you can see why as it has so many musical moments that put it in the 71 era. Would it have sounded any different if Eno had been on board? Well no violin on SL but I am sure something equally wondrous would have replaced it. I don't think we would have had that marvellous intro to SFE though or a few more EJ touches. LIVE Good points Richard. Sunset is wonderful as it is, but some Enoism sprinkled across it could been interesting. But JLY would not be the perfect gorgeously sweet love song that it is with Eno involved. Great thread. LIVE You might remember how it used to be... Digital CD tree #4. This is where gaps start to appear - no Triptych, but live versions of the rest of the tracks from Country Life, all recorded on the Country Life and Siren tours (plus some extras from the Manifesto and F+B tours). Quite a few tracks are from a 1974 Paris show that hasn't been very widely bootlegged. Not the most polished recording (straight from the mixing desk by the sounds of it) but captures the atmosphere well. CD artwork once more kindly provided by Dick. Here's what, where and when. Country Life - LIVE Live versions of tracks from the 'Country Life' album (plus a few extras) sourced from radio broadcasts, soundboard recordings and audience tapes recorded between 1974 and 1980. 1.
