It's weird because the gig itself is all a bit of a blur to me now, but what I do remember vividly is being as nervous as a novice nun at the Playboy Mansion. Not just before the first tinkling indicators of RM/RM but all the way through. Sweaty palmed and nervous to hear the next song, and the next and the next. Nervous for the band to be brilliant and nervous for us to get through it without spontaneously combusting. It was likely that night. I think I only exhaled once we'd all debunked to the nearest Guinness hostelry to let out one huge collective wow! You see, 18 years previously, I never thought I'd ever see my beloved Roxy perform together on stage again. I had also metaphorically buried a huge important part of my life after the Wembley Ferry Mamouna gig, having been so disappointed I genuinely thought I didn't want to see Ferry live again. I shed a tear, and resigned myself to the love affair being over. It was the ATGB tour that got my mojo back, introduced me to this list and started a series of life-long worldwide friendships. So it's the reactions of my fellow travelling Roxyites that I remember with as much fondness as the gig itself - thankfully they number amongst them enough anoraks to fill in the gaps for me. But who amongst us here could ever forget that Giant's Causeway giant supper? Bizarrely, before Reecey posted, I had felt myself inexplicably drawn to Youtube yesterday on impulse to watch the Apollo video (in bits) and drove myself crackers by watching BEB over and over again. It was obviously my inner anniversary barometer guiding me home. Halcyon days indeed. Dublin : I'm not sure the Guiness hostelry knew quite what hit them with us lot pouring in there after the gig (before pouring ourselves out much much later, of course). I too remember the 'highlight' ! shout... and also the 'aaaahhh' ! from directly behind me, the reaction to the first drumbeats of FYP. Etched in a fading memory :) Still trying to finish the Causeway Supper (nearly there...). Incidentally, briefest of chats with 'our Lucy' (as she will rightly forever be known) last night - it surprised her too that exactly 10 years had passed, 'flown by', as she herself said. Oh and I watched the whole DVD last night - I mean, I had to !
