Naturally much toadying took place. No real substance to it (the interview or the album) but BF was in good form and did whip out a couple of nice anecdotes from the good old days.B Apparently when they were recording 'All I Want Is You' at Air Studios off Oxford Circus, the two tape operators were larking around, trying to put the band off, perhaps understandable given that they were Michael Sellers and Sean Milligan, the sons of Peter Sellers and Spike Milligan respectively. Apparently one of them had fallen in the water...(you have to be old to get that one). Later he said that he was in a lift in New York once, when the doors opened and in walked Chuck Berry, carrying a takeaway. It goes to show you never can tell... Like a good pro he plugged the tour, even mentioned the trip to Iceland, which is of course well-known for liking old geezers.., um, sorry, B 'geysers, but he did spoil it a bit by mentioning that he listened to a lot of jazz when he was younger (who knew?) but he did also let slip that he sometimes purchased his own records from eBay. Bryan was too kind to say a flunky did it for him; the word he used was 'aide'. Anyway, hearing those tales makes me wish that he would announce his autobiography...*rolls eyes*. The interview is on the BBC website here:B http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06qnl6lB Given that it's R&M there's about 90 minutes of Morrissey b-sides, fuzzbox-wielding new wave bands and pithy Northern banter before you get to The Commander's contribution.
