["John O'Brien" Subject: RE: [AVALON] Christmas cheer? <<<> I personally have no interest in this particular edition of the Avonmore album when. There was a time i felt I 'had to' buy everything that was released officially, now I just buy what interests me. I am not sure what the 10 projects started that have been officially mentioned: Book, Roxy 2011 DVD, Deluxe RM Debut album, are 3 I can think of off the top of my head. <<<>>> And you know for a fact????? Everything is validated no matter what?? No One Challenges???? Also...... are all ideas Bryan's?? Look at a lot of the positive things that have happened over the last 10-15 years like set list choices where we have seen Bryan/Roxy perform stuff like: Just Like You, This Island Earth, When She Walks In The Room, Same Old Scene, What Goes On, Amazona, Sentimental Fool, Love Me Madly Again, 2HB. Beauty Queen, Zamba to name a few have come from Bryan being attuned to what his audience wants. The deluxe editions idea was presented to him in a draft prototype form by a fan a few years ago and the sort of things that is expected of a deluxe thing like the Roxy Music album has been put to him from a die hard point of view (after all that's who this market is aimed at) and that some of the content that fans will love might never have seen the light of day if not. A lot of ideas and information is fed to Bryan either at his request to find out what fans want but some ideas are also put forward unsolicited too. Not everything is accepted or rejected but the ultimate decisions are made by him ........after all he has been referred to on this particular forum as 'The Commander' many times. <<>> I totally agree Chris, I still come away form his shows feeling entertained and with maybe a different kind of buzz I did years ago but still a buzz. <> I have to agree to a point and say that my favorite BF/RM work is at least 15 years old or more and I rarely play most albums from and including Frantic but there is still nuggets on each album J.O'B. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ End of avalon-digest V15 #1002 ****************************** ======================================================================== For further info, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: info avalon-digest
