What would Bryan Ferry have to do to match that accomplishment? I think if one of the contestants wanted to perform one of BF's self-penned songs he'd rake it in in royalties and I think any embarassment of being associated with X-Factor and the like would pale into insignificance. I think Cohen must have done handsomely when whoever sang one of his songs a few years back and although his profile was reasonably high at the time anyway (I think he'd just come off a sellout, critically acclaimed tour) I'm sure a few more people would've checked him out because of it. Also, I think perhaps it unsurprising that say the "kids" see it as Adele's song - they're her age group thereabouts and might not realise that it was written by someone else. Look how we referred to Bryan Ferry's Let's Stick Together a few days back. Look how we referred to Bryan Ferry's Let's Stick > Together a few days back. Ah no, I think that was different. The advert quite specifically mimicked Bryan Ferry's very distinctive version of the song (as opposed to, say, Canned Heat's version) and that cover is what we were referring to. The same might be said of BF's 'Hard Rain' - but scarcely 'All Along The Watchtower' ;) By the way, anyone notice Jerry Hall's walk-on to the strains of 'LST' on BBC's One Show the other night ? They also showed the 'Siren' cover on the big screen and JH told the story about how Bryan Ferry held the umbrella to shade her blue-painted self from the unseasonable Angelesey weather ... I think they talked more about Ferry than they did about Mick Jagger actually. Regards, GoggleIves n.p. Isn't it co-written with Phil? That would be about right for the early Roxy in the studio stuff.
