The journalist is a fool, I was at Lovebox, and have just come back from Bestival, where Roxy were fantastic. The reason Lovebox wasn't so good was the 'decibel cap' - you could hardly here PM's guitar. Bestival was in the middle of nowhere and the sound was as it should be - great! I'm sure it's difficult for RM to play at their best when the sound, through no fault of their own, is inadequate. I can't think of any band that can play with the same energy and vigour in their 60's as they did their 20's. RM's performance on Sunday was faultless. My only criticism is that AM sax/oboe wasn't high enough in the mix. PM guitar solo's were as good as ever, and Bryan didn't mess up the whistling on Jealous Guy (as at Lovebox), or the vocals on IEDHAH. I didn't go to see Mark Ronson, but there can't have been many people there, as most were watching RM! The journalist is obviously not a fan. I am. Yes I was a little frustrated that Bryan released a solo album, again. But I'm glad there's an album at all.
